Just got back, now don't kill me for my review.

I wasn't a big fan of Collective Soul at all. I thought that their songs were slower than they should have been or something. It was weird set.

Thought Live was very good on the other hand. It was crowded but the crowd wasn't as good as Starland the other night. Towards the encore there was a bit of distortion on a few verses of songs, otherwise the band was on all night. Ed seemed particuarly excited and his voice was spot on again!!! The band also replaced White Discussion with Operation Spirit, which was a nice surprise.

Also Live and Collective Soul will be playing without Counting Crows at the Brookhaven Ampitheater in Farmingville NY on August 19th. Tickets on sale August 19th.

Setlist as best

1. Mystery
2. All Over You
3. Selling the Drama
4. The River
5. Mirror Song
6. They Stood Up for Love
7. Voodoo Lady
8. Wings
9. Shittown
10. I Walk the Line
11. Iris
12. The Dolphin's Cry
13. Heaven

Encore
14. Sofia
15. Lakini's Juice
16. I Alone
17. Lightning Crashes
18. Operation Spirit
19. Dance With You

Did anyone on the board attend the show?

I was at both shows. Sayerville and Nokia Theater. Both shows were great. There was a different setlist at both shows. It was great to hear Operation Spirit. Collective was a good opening for LIVE.

The CSoul Board posters had nice things to say about Live. They said CS was awesome except for a guitar issue during Shine. I so wish I'd have been there sad.gif I wonder if any of our Live friends met any of our CS friends?! lol.gif

Some CS posters had nice things to say, others not so much. I guess people like me are on every board. I do agree that they were a good opener for Live. They just weren't my thing.

Let me say this...I have to disagree with Nick, for once! lol.gif Collective Soul rocked!! They opened with Where the River Flows and then followed it up with December...my two favorite songs. I'm not good with set lists, but some that I remembered hearing along with those two were Run, The World I Know, Gel, Hollywood (which rocked even more live), another new song that was slow (Ed dedicated it to him and Dean's mom), Precious Declaration, Heavy...I can't remember the rest right now but Ed sounded amazing! The guitar thing during Shine was no big deal. Ed's electric guitar wasn't working. So he ended up playing it acoustic. He didn't seem to mind at all and he even joked about it. It was a nice blend of electric and acoustic. The crowd was so into it!! I met a couple who were CS fans. They were so cool and the guy was singing along with Mirror Song, so I knew he was a LIVE fan too. It was a perfect night!!! I have to try and go to the lastest NY date posted! I need to find out the distance from my house though. I hope I can make it!

I got to see Nick and Jen too, so that was cool! smile.gif

It was nice seeing you too. I thought your Collective Soul shirt rocked. On the other hand, let's agree to disagree about the actual band.

I just read my review and I'm sorry at how poorly written it was! I guess I need to start checking my work.

You have to admit that Live rocks out 10 times harder than Collective Soul on stage. Ed and Chad T. have more energy than all 5 members of CS combined.

Well, I just got my pictures back and I must say that Ed Roland and Joel Koeshe (hope I spelled that right) are totally rocking there asses off in them!! lol.gif

I do have to admit that nothing compares to the Taylor stomp and Ed's marching around the stage during Lakini's Juice! thumbsup.gif

I can't help it...they are both my favorite, so I try not to compare. innocent.gif
