I just got back from Adam's show in Pittsburgh; Aly and talked with him for a bit afterwards. Before we left, Aly asked about the summer tour with Collective Soul and he said that it is definitely going to happen, but it's not all worked out yet because it was a last minute idea thrown together.

We all know that, but here's where it gets better...Adam told us that they're trying to make this a three way thing--LIVE, Collective Soul and Counting Crows! This could be huge.

Counting Crows will allow bigger venues, but I've heard that their fans are disrespectful to opening acts! Also the band does not fit in with Live and Collective Soul at all. I guess leaving early and beating traffic would be nice.

Counting Crows? Blech. vomit.gif

LiVE and Collective Soul would be awesome, though!

You can say that about the fanbase of just about any band.

One of my favorite bands in the entire world has a fanbase that hates opening acts with a passion.

Remember that Live toured with Counting Crows in 1999.

Also, Adam Duritz did background vocals on "Flow".

And many people who attended the shows said that the fanbases did not mix well at all. What we know right now is that Live/Collective Soul is pretty much confirmed, while Counting Crows is a rumor. We'll see shortly what happens.

Yeah I'd rather just see Live and CS together but I like Counting Crows too. I wonder who the headliner would be now? It does explain how they could fill arenas though. Man I feel like it's the year 2000 all over again.

I'm excited no matter what happens. LIVE and Collective Soul are my two favorite bands ever, so the tour was already gold for me...and Counting Crows have put on an excellent show both times I saw them (once with LIVE and again with the Goo Goo Dolls; though I am still pissed they didn't play Mr. Jones last year!).

I wish Counting Crows would play first, but I don't see that happening...at the very least a large majority of the time. But whatever. It'll be a solid, solid show and I'll still get to see each band individually at other times to get a full set.

I've seen Counting Crows only once and it was enough!!! God, they suck live. It was Wed, Aug 2nd 2000 when they toured with Live.

They totally sucked. During Long December the dude forgot the words to his own song and they had to restart with the 2nd verse. They just sound like crap overall. I hope that Live tours solo, with Collective Soul, or some other band.

If there's one thing about having Counting Crows on the bill, is that they have an open taping policy. That means that they're cool with fans bringing in their audio recording gear to the shows and the venues are usually made aware of this situation so you won't get a hard time from security as well.

So, hopefully we might see a few recordings coming out of this tour...
