Was listening to 96fm in perth the other day and the afternoon guy was explaining how someone rang up earlier and lectured him about mis-pronouncing the live song he just played. He told him that the song was called SETTING the drama, not selling the drama. The radio guy said this dude was literally yelling at him and that he needed to stop calling the song selling the drama. This listener was convinced that the song first word was setting and that "he would know because he's like their biggest fan". It was quite funny to listen to because it went on all day and they had people checking google and wikipedia and even had listeners calling in with their opinions.

They eventually discovered that when throwing copper was released the first thousand or so copies had a typo where the second track on the sleeve was actually titled "Setting the Drama". The radio guy appologized and kind of said over the air that the angry caller could likely get lots of money for that if indeed he has one of those copies.

Anyone know of any of this??

LOL
That's the best thing I've ever heard.

I know I bought the album the day it was released here in the US. (I actually bought TWO copies that day.) My copies are fine & I never heard of that misprint.

Ive never heard that. But I Googled "Setting the Drama, Throwing Copper" and I got some results.

Obviously this guy isn't the only one who thought it was "Setting the Drama"

OMG laugh.gif The "review" at that link is absolutely laughable!!
"Profane, miserable nonsense is more like it. Either way, Throwing Copper is an oppressive disc with nothing of value to communicate to teens."

To be honest, when I first bought Throwing Copper way back in the day, I was convinced that the name of the song was in fact "Selling the Drum". I got this because I never really bothered checking out the back sleeve. I was too fascinated with the handwriting style of the lyrics which, if you weren't sure of the song title, could easily be misread. Anyway, I smartened up, did some Hell Maries, mutilated my body and asked God for forgiveness.

As for "Setting the Drama", I've seen this spelling before, but to my knowledge it has never been printed like this on Throwing Copper, even in very limited quantities. Personally, I doubt the caller's story. But, that's just me. What do I know?

A few other funny typos:

Dolphon City. Yep, several online retailers were selling "Dolphon City" singles in 1999. I schooled them. I schooled them good.

Lavinki's Juice. This actually did show up spelt this way on a US promotional VHS for the single. Consequently, every so often you'd hear VJs talking about the new Live single "Lavinki's Juice".

Hah, that site has some hilarious reviews! I've never seen a place where they nitpick every single word in the lyrics like this. lol.gif
