QUOTE(SecretInsomnia @ Apr 22 2007, 2:08 pm) *

if there's a way to release Mystery as proper single again (and not only sending it to some radio stations), they should do it!!!!!

it could be a very good chart hit (with or without Daughtry, both versions are very hit potentional

The problem with Mystery is that Live was already sent to Red/Ink before it was released. There was no money behind it and their label didn't even push the song after it was played on American Idol. Why they wasted money re-recording with Daughtry especially since the song was never released, made no sense.

If Mystery featuring Chris Daughtry would have had an official release, it would have been a chart topper. Mystery without Daughtry would have been solid as well.

I have a friend who works in a popular NYC radio and she says that Daughtry was a total dick on a recent trip to the station. He was rude to the staff and made certain than no one would mention American Idol during the interview they had scheduled.

HELLO CHRIS YOU WOULD NOT HAVE A CAREER OTHERWISE!

i heard from a friend of a friend~god does that sound so jr high or what~that he was pretty arrogant at the station stop in portland.

I enjoyed his show and while he may be reported to be a dick, the rest of his band were great....even if the bass player said he was bored in portland. wink.gif

I had a feeling the guy was a diva. Kind of sad when he hasn't even been famous for more than a year and the only reason he is is because he was on a tv show.

Hopefully his next album will go nowhere and he can go back to working in a tire shop. thumbsup.gif

Well, I know that if I was being asked about American Idol everytime I was interviewed, I'd get a little pissed.

Seriously, who gives a crap what Chris is really like. None of us know him personally, so it's not our place to judge him.

I don't know I just always think its a shame when a rock star can't even be nice to the very people that put him where he is. Like AI, radio station people and his fans. He would be nowhere without the people that voted for him OR that show. Its funny that he thinks he's too good for AI all of the sudden when that is the only reason anybody even knows his name. It might be different if he was making really great music but his music isn't even that good. If his music was good I would still buy it regardless of whether or not the guy's a dick. But I guess I just think he has a little bit bigger of an ego than he should for someone in his position.

well yeah, I don't think he's a rockstar
For being a rockstar you have to prove your qualities with your famous band at several albums and not only an album that sells very well because of you appearance on AI. Don't get me wrong, the album Daughtry sounds good, but it's nothing to call a classic rock album or something. If he had made a total original rock album with the band he played with, totally different from the AI pop music, well than I would take him serious. Now it's like: good/fun album, I listen a lot, but nothing special.

and btw, again: Mystery together with Live was good thumbsup.gif the guy as a very good voice
But he's NOT A ROCKSTAR!! no.gif

The music industry is very fickle and many stars who get "too big too soon" end up falling on their face in the end. We just all have to be patient and wait for the implosion.

please explain....i believe he did play with this band on the cd, minus the original guitarist who has since left the band.

yes, i agree with heather, it is nice for a artist, musician to be humble with those that helped him, her reach their goals.

oh no, I didn't mean he didn't play with that band on his album, cuz I know that, but my focus was 'If he had made a total original rock album' (with that band)

I read a review in Rolling Stone, they portrayed him as a dick too. But I read another in the latest Blender and they made him seem like a pretty nice guy. They also said he has an "unhealthy obsession with circa 1994 Live" which made me laugh. Theres nothing wrong with that!

Anyway, I'd think that since the guy is just starting out, he'd be a little nicer all the time. And not turn his back on the show that made him famous. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kelly Clarkson do the same for awhile? I know she's on the show this week, but i thought I remember her dissing it there a while ago?

THe article in Blender also mentions how adamant he is that he's a lead singer of a band and not a solo artist. At least his ego is in check there. Of course, its a little weird that I remember seeing that his former band (before Idol) had to try out to be part of Daughtry. And I dont think any of them 'made the cut'

And what happend? : Daughtry is suddenly in topp 20 of the radios playlist. I have never heard him on Norwegian Radio before. Let's hope the same things happend to Live, when Ed appears on the show. Probbably not no.gif

The song itself is not about the troops. Chris wrote it when he was away from home about his feelings on his family and friends. I think the record label is just going with the troop approach to the song.

Hey sorry to like be mean and all but i hate to break it to you, but you are WRONG about Chris writing it about his friends and family. in fact he wrote it about going home to God, and salvation, and Jesus. So ya sorry to burst your bubble but that what he said on his website that it is about God.

Chris Daughtry probably had very little to do with writing the song at all.
