I'm crossing my fingers that it does happen. Unlike a lot of fans, I actually prefer seeing Live in larger venues, with a larger stage. My first concert was at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater, back then known as the World Music Theater, which holds 30,000, and the place was packed and it was more electric and louder than any other concert I've been to. And watching the thousands of fans rockin to Live was almost just as fun.

I think seeings two great concert bands for one low price will get people out to shows. Summertime will certainly help. I just want to see dates!

Live just sold out Starland Ballroom and that holds 2200. However, I do agree that it will be difficult to sell large arenas, but mid-sized venues at lower ticket prices may work.

PNC Bank Arts Center
Tweeter Center
Jones Beach
York Fair
Musikfest
Mohegan Sun Arena

All venues the bands can play at. 5000/10000 capacity, maybe they won't sell out, but I bet the bands will get good sized crowds. I'm interested to see what happens.

Tweeter Center in Camden would be out of the question for a summer tour with Live and Collective Soul. Tweeter Center holds 25,000 people for summer shows. 6,000 in the house and 18,000 on the lawn. The concert promoter and the band would lose way to much money playing there.

Yeah, the Tweeter Center is probably my least favorite place to see a concert. I would love to see them at the Borgata or the Marina or even the Electric Factory or the Tower Theater. I'd really go anywhere for this show so I don't know why I'm being picky. lol.gif

I remember the last time Live played Merriweather in 2004, the ticket price was $15 and they filled half the pavillion. Maybe 1000-2000 people.

I remember that too Todd. I would hope that with Collective Soul and Live together they would be able to mostly fill the place. I don't know what it is about that place but I don't think any of those $15 shows that Summer filled it.

I thought of another place they could play. The Hershey Star Pavilion. I know the bands that draw smaller crowds play there in the Summer instead of using the whole stadium. There's a place in Virginia too that is a smaller outdoor arena, I can't remember the name of it though. There are plenty of smaller places that they can play that are bigger than the clubs that both bands are playing now. Whoever their promoter is just has to choose the right places.

I think you are thinking of Wolf Trap. Wolf Trap would be great because it is a national park and you can bring in your own food and beer.

Yep that's the one. I thought it had something to do with a wolf! Sounds perfect for a show.

What about the Eutess Arena that its in the Trump Taj Mahal. I saw Live play there in 2001 and it would seem the perfect size for a Live/Collective Soul concert. As Heather said, as long as the promoter picks smart this tour could do well.

Hmm... it would kinda hard to find a good venue here.

The outdoor venues are too big and the indoor venues (save for the Dodge Theatre) are either too big or too small. And the Dodge Theatre is in a bad part of the city and there's traffic due to light rail construction.

However this would be a rare show that my father would attend (he likes Collective Soul).
