A fan who asked to remain anonymous spoke to a member of the band at the chameleon club regarding the Live/Collective Soul tour rumored for this summer. The band member confirmed the tour saying it should begin late July and carry through September and would conist of nearly 30 arena shows.
Also, Live should be closing the majority of the concerts.

I know I'm going to take flack for posting this from a source who does not want to be named on the board, but this is coming from someone I trust and I full expect this tour to happen.

I think the band wanted to make sure you were fully recovered from your pregnancy so that you could attend. He misses ya! smile.gif

I deleted the Live/Collective Soul poll because I did not want my stupidity to create disharmony before the tour even starts. I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

I have to wonder what they mean by arena shows? I don't think they will be playing the huge arenas but I wonder what types of places they will play? I'm thinking like a summer shed tour. Like they would play the medium sized outdoor venues. I'm hoping for a Merriweather show, if they even still have shows there, or maybe Pier Six in Bmore. Montage Mountain in Scranton would also be a good place.

What other places do you guys think they might play?

If you're referring to Merriweather in Columbia, Maryland, then yes they still do concerts there! smile.gif

That would be an awesome place to play at!

I wish this tour would happen, but I'd be willing to bet it won't. Ticket prices would have to be $10 or less to fill up a 5000 seat arena, and even then, there aren't many arenas around the country that are that small. Most arenas hold 10,000 - 23,000. Right now, neither band can sell out a 2000-capacity club. And 30 dates with nothing to promote it? There's no way!

Live just sold out Starland Ballroom and that holds 2200. However, I do agree that it will be difficult to sell large arenas, but mid-sized venues at lower ticket prices may work.

PNC Bank Arts Center
Tweeter Center
Jones Beach
York Fair
Musikfest
Mohegan Sun Arena

All venues the bands can play at. 5000/10000 capacity, maybe they won't sell out, but I bet the bands will get good sized crowds. I'm interested to see what happens.

I'm crossing my fingers that it does happen. Unlike a lot of fans, I actually prefer seeing Live in larger venues, with a larger stage. My first concert was at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater, back then known as the World Music Theater, which holds 30,000, and the place was packed and it was more electric and louder than any other concert I've been to. And watching the thousands of fans rockin to Live was almost just as fun.
