It's official. Ecerpt from Variety.com:

"International rock group 'Live' has announced that their 8th strudio album, due for release Christmas '07, will be entitled "The Dark Season". Since their less than fortunate reign with Sony Epic, the band has collaborated to form their own label, a career first for the pennsylvania quartet. Frontman Ed Kowalczyk shed some light on the upcomming release:

"Its not that we don't appreciate what Sony did for our Black Mountain promotion, but we felt that the next step for Live is to move into new territory and to do that it became almost necessary to isolate ourselves from the confines of the commercial equation. With our very own (Chad) Taylor rising to the role of producer, our fans can expect a very different sounding Live. I've said it before, but this will be the greatest rock album of the decade."

Referring to the same glib announcement he made prior to the release of the somewhat meloncholy third outing, "Secret Samadhi", one must ask "Will this promise pay off?"
