QUOTE(Heather @ Mar 1 2007, 8:31 am) *

Has anyone else heard this cd? My mom forced me to listen to it because she swore it was good, now I'm questioning her taste! I must say it is one of the most bland, boring, uncreative, unoriginal things I have ever heard. The one thing that I did like was Slash's guitar work but only because I love him. Even his guitar work couldn't save that song. All of the songs sound the same, his voice is average at best and for some reason I am reminded of Nickelback.

Sorry for any fans out there but I just had to give my two cents. I can't believe he has sold 2 million cds. I guess the only way to sell cds anymore is to be on a tv show.

nod.gif I agree with you too Heather. I listened to his album (on VH1.com) when it just came out or at least part of all the songs and found them to be bland too. He has nothing to hold me vocally and yeah the songs sound the same.

I just bought this CD yesterday and I can't stop listening to it.
I think it's great....I checked out his website and almost every show is SOLD OUT .
I guess he's doing something right!

He's playing very small venues and is coming off the Idol buzz. He like Clay Aiken but playing generic rock songs instead of pop. I agree he has a good voice though. Stage presence wise he reminds me of an Ed K. impersonator without the charmisma.

He's gonna sell a whole bunch of more cds in the upcoming months, since "Home" (2nd single) is the new theme song for American Idol this year and is played on every results show when the contestants are voted off, to a slow-mo video of the eliminated contestant. Remember last year it was "Bad Day"; this year it's "Home".

I wouldn't be surprised if the producers of American Idol wrote that song for him. lol.gif It's all good entertainment though, doesn't bother me...

Shinedown is just okay sorry. I like Default, but I just realized Daughtry sounds a lot like them. I'm just confused now sad.gif

Is that who he sounds like? I knew his voice reminded me of someone but I couldn't put my finger on it. I think you're right. I like Default too but have kind of lost interest in them lately. I did see them live once and I liked them. One thing I can say is that the guitar player in Default is way better than anything I've heard on that Daughtry cd.

I am pretty sure Daughtry sounds like the guy from Default. While I was listening to clips of Daughtry's CD, I kept saying to myself haven't I heard all this before. I finally figured out, it sounded just like Default. I saw Default open for Bush and Evanescense and I thought they were good. Not a great stage show, but they had a good sound. Unfortunately they did not tour the Eastern US for their last album and that is probably a good reason you lost interest. They are working on a 4th studio album now, hopefully they find their way back to us next year.

I like Chris. At first, I made fun of a friend of mine that's taste in music is limited to those she sees on American Idol. I mean, the girl gets Nickelback and Saliva mixed up. But anyway, I listened to his Cd a few more times and I think it's good. She wants to see him so bad, but he skipped this area. I'll go see him with her. I'm sure he'll creep me out as an Edclone, but all in all I like what I hear.

And I think Default sound like Nickelback...but i dont really think Chris sounds like either one but thats just my opinion lol.gif
