MrMcPheezy, everyone's entitled to their opinion; but, you definitely have some anger problems and you come off as extremely arrogant and rude. Perhaps you don't mean it...but that's what it seems. And by the way, this is insulting (can't deny it):

I only had enough time to breeze through the posts...and it would be impossible for me to reply to everything you say because you posted so much.

I want you to know that I do agree (and if I don't agree, I can see where you're coming from) with some of the stuff you post. You feel that Live has lost its creativity. You make a good case for it, and its your opinion of their new stuff. That's completely fine with you because you feel it and believe it. I don't love and swoon over everything Live makes either; if you read what I wrote about V...I feel most of it was garbage. Their newer stuff (last 5 years) hasn't been incredible in my opinion, but there are strokes of genius that I hear as I said in my post.

Just so you know, of course I am aware that I can't listen to 100% of the stuff out there. Also, I don't listen to radio AT ALL. Its mostly garbage, save a couple of artists. I have a very broad spectrum of music and I'm very open to many types of music: classic rock, alternative, metal, punk, even opera and classical music. what I meant is that no matter how many new bands, new music, and old music I listen to...Live is still my favorite.

I don't want to start any arguing with you on the posts, and I really never intended to. Sorry for the hint of sarcasm in my last post. I think that sometimes, your logical opinions are masked by how harshly you present them...that's all.

And, as a completely serious question to you: why do you post here so much if you really don't like the band's stuff much anymore?

Very well. I apologize for my assumptions (though you'll find they're true of many others here). I'm glad you can look at a band that you love and see that they're not perfect. I find that to be a very good attribute that not nearly enough people have. This is a big part of what I ask from people here, and few give it.

I think this person means well. Many of us will stick with Live and love their music until they're Rolling Stones-age and still touring. Some of us welcome everything Live does with open arms, others do not. Even those of us who think V and BOP (and perhaps SFBM; awaiting verdict) were shitty efforts, there's still a love of Live, to some degree, there. Hopefully, critics focus on the music; not the person discussing the music. Arguments either sink or swim by themselves.

All of us have (or had) some special connection to Live. And even those who seem to despise Live have good intentions. They want the band to make great music, to challenge themselves and produce creative records, again. The Dam at Otter Creek is onto something, they argue, and The River is not.

You don't need me to tell you this. We all know this, but sometimes lose sight of it. Like Democracy, good music is at its best when it's challenged and kept in check. And, being civil is just as important as being critical.

Hello everyone...COS here from the old board...hope everyone is doing well...

Excellent initial post pizan0!! As the poster above, I may not agree with everything little thing you've said, but you certainly said it well, and for the most part you're right on.

Though I've been resigned to lurker the past year or so, I couldn't read another thread like this without chiming in.

My brief history with McPheezy is as follows: one of his initial posts on the board stated, and I quote, "does it bother any of you that the only member of the band with ANY talent is Ed?", which of course led to a huge Gracey argument. This ended with me being called an idiot and a moron (his modus operandi, as we would all come to find out later). New to the message board community and protocol, I was ready to challenge him to an IQ test or send him my college transcripts (logical responses for a grown man, of course...), but instead decided to reduce myself to occasional observer from a far to quell my irrational "who the fuck does this kid think he is?" syndrome.


The Facts, as I see then


McPheezy is:


Obviously Intelligent

Condescending, Belligerent, and Elitist

Rude and Obnoxious

A 20 year old (guess...am I close?) who acts, well, 20 (though the posting with every imbibed Corona (!!) makes me semi-question my guess)

In possession of the deepest voice I've ever heard

And...exactly how I was ten short years ago (minus the deep voice). Unfortunately message boards were in their infancy "way back then", thus I couldn't play the McPheezy character (but I would have loved to ), and I was forced to vent my frustration via alternate means


So you deal with him, or you don't...but either way, don't take the dude too seriously...he's just entertaining himself while feeding his ego and insecurities at the same time...it's a win/win for him, so he's not going anywhere...get used to him.

It's seriously great to have discussions and arguments about the topics that come up here that have to do with Live or whatever else on the off-topic, but Mr Liverocks can't seem to handle that, whilst someone like mcpheezy is usually arguing about the argument at hand, Liverocks is usually arguging about mcpheezy arguing about the argument at hand .. oh man, tongue twister!
