Got to go with Nickelback. They are the worst band ever. I remember hearing that they were opening for them and I thought to myself, "this can not be good news for the boys" Very weak!

I don't want to judge them, but they could've been big, as big as not having to open for anyone anymore.

I didn't have a problem with any of the above moves. I liked the Run Away duet with Shelby Lynne. The boys rocked it out on American Idol and with a proper label push the appearance could have been huge for them. Unfortunately they were signed to Epic, but that's another story.

Also, V and SFBM are two of my favorite albums. Nickelback sucks, but what's wrong with Live upstaging a band in their own home country.

Needless to say I did not vote smile.gif

No question - Nickelback. That burst of time makes my blood curdle.
One comedian (one of the dudes on Sarah Silverman's new show) was on Colin Quinn's show one time & they were debating whether or not music is a bad influence on kids (for example 'lyrics made him kill his classmate' or something to that effect). This guy said, "I don't think music makes you kill. I think BAD music makes you kill. Like, listening to Nickelback makes me want to kill Nickelback!" hahaha

I actually like Shelby Lynne. I think she has a great voice and a solid career (yea, so what, it's country/folk/crossover/triple-A stuff. She's done perfectly fine for herself. Just because it's not your cup or tea doesn't mean it's awful.) And jesus fucking christ it's Run Away. Not Runaway. If we're going to bash a song for the rest of our lives, can we please get it right?

The AI thing made me throw up about 27 times for a few different reasons (the show promotes NO originality whatsoever in an effort to reach a mass audience of retards). It's nothing more than a showcase for singers to be heard by record execs, which on it's own is really great, but it should stay that way and stop infesting how many fucking hours of primetime tv when every Aaron Sorkin show gets cancelled ... grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But that's my little war to fight. I know I'm in the minority on that one. Nothing new for me.

The lyrics for V ... whatever. I like to file that away as 'experimental' for Live.

The lyrics for SFBM ... can we please, as a group, get past the fact that Ed is happy? Why does his happiness piss us off? Happy lyrics seems to be the result of an artist who has kids. We need to accept it and move on.

Sorry - bad day at work. Again.
If you need me I'll be jumping out the window.

Nickelback for sure.

Run Away is my runner up. It's not really Shelby that makes this song embarrassing(Which was bad), but the song itself that makes it embarrassing. A lot of you might not agree with me, but this song is worst than any song off of V or SFBM. .... I might be exaggerating a little....but not really.

I voted SFBM too. V~ I can flag as an experiment. I listen to it and chuckle.
However SFBM is just so lukewarm and boring to me. I like Sophia though kicking.gif

They shouldn't have opened for Nickelback based on principal alone. But I really don't see anything embarassing about any of the other choices.

An embarassing song is Sanctity of Dreams. I wouldn't play that song for anyone who knows that Live is my favorite band. I think it is just cheesy. Paint a mustache on the Mona Lisa... I get sick just thinking about it.

I have to say SFBM. That cd is so lame, I can't believe it came from Live.

I've always liked "V" and never complained about it, other than 'OK' but hell, even that song is ok to me now!

The American Idol thing isn't embarrassing, like someone said, they can't say no if someone that loves them asks them to be on it!

I don't like Shelby Lynne either, but again, its cool collaborate and experiment. Theres nothing wrong with that

And well, the Nickelback thing is pretty sad, embarrassing and just plain wrong, but I'm sure it was good exposure to new fans. .... so i can sort of excuse it, but it was hard. lol.gif

I don't think I'll be voting for any of those.

Both the American Idol performance and opening for Nickelback were BRILLIANT oppertunities to acquire some new fans. I've not really got an opinion on the Shelby Lynne duet, but I don't think you can be embarrased by it. Everyone does a duet at some point. As for the content for V and SFBM, i've already stated that I love both albums, so I'm not ashamed and disgusted by either. If you don't like what-the-hell-is-this or cheesyness in your music then BY GOD don't listen to any mainstream modern stuff!

As for Nickelback as a band, I happen to like them. Yes. I said it. I mean it. Yes.

The only thing I can think of that could be classed as embarrassing is a video I've seen on Youtube. It's about Overcome, and it has Ed visiting the 9 / 11 scenes. He gets all emotional and starts singing Overcome in the streets. He looks a bit trampish as well, so it's like "No Ed. Stop! Too much! lol.gif "

But yes, I disgaree with all the poll choices.

I was going with the Nickelback, but is that so embarrissing to open for another band, they probably will be opening for Daughtry on his tour.
I like Run Away and I never have heard of Shelby Lynne here in Norway, so thats not a big thing for me. AI should have make them sold millions of records so thats o.k.
And the other two: Ed id Ed
So no vote from me

i happened to catch nickelback here friday nite and they were fun....not earth shattering, not the best ever...but damn fun....god beer drinking tunes...

the most emabarrassing~sp? moment for me is SFBM....the other choices were made with the input of others outside of the band, ie management, record label and the like but eddie and the boys were the "creative force" beind the farce of a cd.
