I'm Brian and I've been a Live fan since I heard Lightning Crashes and Overcome in 2001, right around the time of 9/11. I went out and got V and the rest followed in the next month or so. I am a grad student in Asian Studies and soon Urban Development at the University of Texas here in Austin (amazing city if you have never been). I love to read, smoke hookah, play basketball and sing. I am also active in my Church and passionate about Jesus. My favorite bands (outside of Live of course) are Oasis, Elton John, the Beatles, The Kooks, anything from Bollywood, and Travis.

Hey Kids,

My name is Mike, from northern NJ. Granted, I was only about 11 years old at the time, but in 6th grade, I remember hearing STD on the radio and thinking "wow - this song is so great!" It all happened really fast, but after hearing a few other singles off TC, LC being one of them of course, I was a hooked child. I remember watching Live's MTV Unplugged session as if I was watching a supernatural being telling me the meaning of life. I even used to run home on my lunch breaks as a 6th grader to watch the LC video (which for some reason used to play around the same time everyday!) I fondly remember around the same time period, I heard PLOTR on the radio, and wondered if it was an even newer Live song. When I found out it was from an earlier record, I absolutely fell in love with the band forever. For some reason, this band just moved me - made me feel deep emotions that no other band could do so consistently.

That obviously continued through the years, and all the way through the present. 12 years later, I still consider Live my favorite band, listen to them A LOT, and consider them a pretty big influence in my life. As a matter of fact, they influenced me so much as for me to create a radio show (w/ a friend) dedicated to Live during my time at Boston University - some of you may remember; it was called "Livin' it Live."

Favorite albums (most to least): TC, TDTH, SS, MJ, SFBM, BOP, V
Some favorite songs (can't rank these most of the time): Gas Hed Goes West, Ghost, Iris, TDC, TDAOC, Turn My Head, Mystery, Operation Spirit, BOG

Ey !

My name is Lester a 22 year young livefan from Belgium. I joined the madness here, a few years ago, then I posted regurly. But since I started working, I don't have the time to post as often as before. I'm a cook, after my failed attempt to study nutrition en diet, I started working in a restaurant, as cook, in a team of 5 cook's my job is nearly every starter and cold food (salads etc).
Beside my passion to cook ,I'm a practising karateka with a candidate black belt. I also teach karate to beginners.

The passion for Live started around my 16th birthday asking for a Live cd for my birthday, I was brought to that by hearing they stood up for love ,the version they recorded in brussels. But I wasn't direct a fan, around december with nearly 2 months of tdth in my cd player, I cought myself singing a live song out of boredom. And so I started listen even more else before. A year later V come out, and went to my first concert in Antwerp, now nearly 7 years after my first I've seen them about 6 times(always 1st or 2nd row). I traveled over 1000 km to see them in the Netherlands (2times), and went backstage once. I'm a fan of the darkerside of live and the more rocking songs. So it's no suprise that Secret Samadhi my favorite album by far. But do enjoy all there work. Favorite songs are: Graze / White, discussion / Freaks

Whoopeee! I'm in the house! hi.gif

I nearly cried earlier on when the forums said they weren't accepting new registrations, but I hastily found the msn address of brandedwendy, told her of my sorrow and she fixed it all I see! Hooray!

I've been a fan of Live my ENTIRE life, from the very first day I came out the old wombage in fact! But how can this be? Well, my mum is just as big a fan, and Live has been playing ALL my life. It's only this last year or two that I've actually got into them heavily though, but i've still not been able to go to a concert. cry.gif

I've read many reviews over the internet about their changing styles, and how their latest stuff isn't as good, but I can honestly say: I love it ALL. Mental Jewellery, Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi, The Distance to Here, V (soooo underated), Birds of Pray and SFTBM. I love each and every song on each and every album.

Live are my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. So glad I've found a forum with fellow Live lovers. kicking.gif

So yes indeedily, I've opted for the username 'Merica', as that's a song I've been listening to a lot lately.

GREAT to be here guys. I'm seriously marking out here. yahoo.gif

Welcome aboard Merica!!!!

Let's see... my introduction...

I am Wendy, I am 29 years old and live in good ole dutchieland. I have a daughter (9 years old atm) and am happily married... I have been a livefan for ages and ages. (from age 11 up or sumthing... so going on 17 years and some months)

My favourite album is SS, hands down. But I like the other disks as well.... actually love em all, for different reasons and occasions... Seen the guys in concert about 10 times (I am terrible at keeping count on things like that). Also a big fan of Adams music. David Gray, Disturbed and lots of other bands are regularly to be found in my cd-player.

Recently I went back to school, trying to get my Bachelordegree in Personnel and Employment. Which is mighty busy and heaps of fun.

I have been moderator to this messageboard for a couple of years now and I hope I am able to do that for the next years to come. Met some really nice peeps on here and everyday add new friends. If ya got any questions about the board, me or just want a fun chat bout nothing... track me down on msn....!(or myspace...)

Anyways...spread the live.... keep rocking!

yo....I'm Brett, from Woodstock, NY. I'm 23 yrs. I heard lightning crashes when I was 12 in 1995, and got Throwing Copper as my first album. Since then, I'd hear a new live album and feel that it was worse than the previous ones, but in time they would grow on me, sometimes very much so. Live is the greatest band ever. I haven't met any big Live fans in my area, so its good to know anyone who is, ya know?

My name is Jen and I live in Northern Ky. I have been a Live fan since Operation Spirit was in the MTV Buzz Bin. I bought the cassette tape-anyone remember those? I drove my friends crazy asking them to play it in their cars and they finally listened to it to shut me up!

I am 34 years old, married and the mom of 2 little girls-6 years and 16 months and one 90lb Boxer who thinks he is a lap dog. I am a stay at home mom/domestic diva. I worked as a customer service supervisor for 16 years before "retiring" to stay home with my daughters. I would have been working to pay for daycare so hey, no brainer! I do not miss customer service but do miss some of the crazy people I got to talk to on the phone each day.

I have only seen Live in concert 1 time but really hope they will get back to Cincinnati sometime soon. Will travel in a heartbeat to Columbus or Cleveland or anywhere within driving distance. I have been on the board for a short time as jennabeck but have been following the board for about 2 years and have just been too shy to jump in. So here goes!!! bounce.gif

Thanks!

I forgot to put in my post that Live's music has been the soundtrack to my life but I am sure most Live fans will say that. There is always a song that fits my mood which seems to change quite often. When I started listening to Live I was in college and taking a phliosophy course. At the time that I bought Mental Jewelry, we were discussing the existence of God. I have been raised Catholic all my life and at that time I found myself questioning a lot of things in my life, not just religion. I started thinking for myself and not just accepting what I was being told but to draw my own conclusions. I felt I could really relate to Ed's words. I feel like I have gone through major changes in my life at the same time as the band has-marriage, children,etc.... I know many people don't like BOP but I can totally relate to it and though SFBM wasn't Throwing Copper (but really, why should it be? Live in the moment, not the past) I enjoy it as much as any other Live CD.

I really like having an outlet to discuss my favorite band. Being home all day with a 16 month old really leaves me yearning for some adult conversation. I can only take so much Elmo and Teletubbies! hehe.gif
