My name is Bob and I've been a fan of Live since about 1996. I had heard of Live back in 1993 when one of my best friends got a copy of the Beauty of Gray single and brought it over. I didn't think much of it and basically dismissed it. I then had a party at my house a few years later and another friend brought Throwing Copper over and it just clicked with me. I went out the next day and bought TC along with MJ and I've been a fan ever since.

After I bought TC, I was presented with a very unique situation to buy a drumset, so I did and I've been a drummer for going on 12 years now. Chad Gracey's amazing drumbeats got me started and I still use some of his tricks in my music today.

I work in the video game industry as a game designer, production assistant, associate producer and tech support specialist, plus I'm the on again / off again IT guy when something goes wrong at my company.

I also dabble in audio/visual work and love working in audio production programs (Cool Edit Pro, Sound Forge) as well as video production programs such as Adobe Premier and even Windows Movie Maker for smaller stuff.

That's pretty much me. smile.gif

~Bob

Ahh.. me next!

Sooo.. I see my hubby posted earlier and he explained my conversion.

Yes, I am a Live newcomer. Forgive me. I'd heard of them years (and I mean yearrrs) ago but never really dug too far into what they were saying. When I met Jeremy (Good_Pain) he was a huge Live fan and I thought he was strange to listen to the same 5 CD's over and over all the time. Then I joined this site under a diff name about 2 years ago, and got tickets to a concert that was set to go off in Baltimore, but ended up getting cancelled. I really got excited about it and started listening. We finally got our chance to go to my first concert in Reading, PA this past summer. It was amazing. We met a couple of ppl from the site. We were the couple that drove all the way up from Kentucky.

The rest is history.

Personal info.. well.. if you want to know..

I'm 29 and a student again. I finally got accepted into a Rad. Tech. program, so in 2 years I plan to be done and working. I've been working toward this for like 6 years now but something always got in the way. I'm also a wife and a mother. I have two girls, one is 8 and the other will be 8 months old tomorrow. smile.gif So to say my plate is full is an understatement.

We look forward to a couple of concerts this summer. Hopefully the boys will swoop down near Cincinnati and we won't have to go as far!

Hey,

my name is Kathleen and I've been a live fan for about 10 years. It all started with the song "freaks" that I've heard on the radio, and from that moment, it never stopped lol.gif
i am 24 years old and I live near Gent (Belgium). I'm working as a speech therapist (mostly with kids with dyslexia, speech problems,... and adults who have had a stroke)

I saw live a couple of times in the past, but I'm really looking forward to their next visit here in Europe

Hi, my name is Sam I am 20 and I live in Queensland Australia, I am presently working as a company administator.
I first heard LIVE in 1994 on a mix tape my sis gave to me featuring I Alone & Lightning Crashes; I was eight and I loved it. My mum later taped over it and I went into LIVE exodus for over 5 years, I next heard TDTH (my personal favourite) in 2000, then V the same year and I haven't looked back, there is no other band like LIVE.
I have lurked around this site since just after BOP was released and i'm very glad it is being continued, I saw LIVE on the AWAKE tour in Bris in '04 very cool!!! I'm looking forward to many great future LIVE moments. PEACE lol.gif

w00t a site for Live fans!

My name is Michael and I live in Texas. I am 19 years old and still in high school... I've been accepted into the University of North Texas to get my degree in anthropology to become an archaeologist. My first Live experience was when my dad bought TC back in '94. He played the hell out of it and then his interests changed back into classic rock and mine followed. I love hair metal bands like gnr, tesla and skid row.

I gave Live a re-listen when I turned 18 and the blast-from-the-past was overwhelming. I asked if anyone had heard of this great band but I found no one who would share in my interest. Finally, I found a kid who said he had a live CD (SS) and it was lieing under a pile of trash omg.gif I asked for it and he gave it to me. I popped it in and told myself, "Just give it a listen, You can't expect band's non popular albums to be any good." But to my surprise... EVERY song was gold on that album! My search of lyrics for "freaks" led me to this site and I hope to get to know the people here.

I am buying a computer and hope to have the internet on it in 3 weeks.

My name is Natalie and Im 24. I live on Sydneys beautiful North Shore, in Australia. I work in the ever growing strata industry.

I become a live fan in about 1999, towards the end of high school, but I became a massive fan after going to my first concert - I think it was BOP tour.

My Live highlight was meeting Ed and seeing him at the Triple M garage session last year...it was amazing. I feel in love with Ed than, as well as the band

My big highlight this year will be when I marry my lovely partner in November....and we dance our bridal walz to "dance with you"

Hi!

I'm Kymra. I'm 33 years old, from New Hampshire, mom to 2 beautiful dogs, and wife to the coolest guy ever tongue.gif I've been into Live since 1994. My cousin, who sort of emulated my music tastes, asked if I had heard of them right around MJ's release and I said yes, but like someone else said I sort of dismissed them until said cousin made me a tape of TC. I was completely blown away. I absolutely loved the way the album flowed, the way each note bounced off my brain.... I actually don't know how many times I've seen them. Between 40-50, I think. There's not much else that can compare to a Live show for me. I love the energy not only from the band, but the fans as well. I have made some great friends because of this band - and I'm really grateful for that. smile.gif

Let's see - I am a Master Control Operator who works the night shift at a TV Station. I hate working nights, but I am so happy to be free of "Corporate America" (which I was in for 10 years). I love Battlestar Galactica. My favorie Live song is TBD. Um, my biggest goal is to travel.

I think that's it eh.gif

I'm Charlie and live in Philly. I've been totally locked into LIVE since 1994...I still remember my roommate playing TC, and I Alone simply stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it. I saw my first show a month later at the TLA in Philly and it blew me away. This band has given me so much joy over the years that it's hard to express in words. I'm thankfull they're still at it and I still get fired up to experience them live. I've been to 39 shows, and the friends I've made along the way are invaluable. That's a big number, but LIVE has earned my loyalty and respect, and I doubt that'll ever wane. I have vivid memories of virtually every single show. I thought the figure was over 50 (seems like it!), but my prized ticket collage doesn't lie. Earlier this year I also realized a dream of catching a couple shows in Europe. I know they have loyal followings in certain spots outside of the U.S., and just always wanted to see for myself how they were received and how passionate these fans are for LIVE. Oslo and Stockholm didn't disappoint..........hopefully down the road I can swing an Amsterdam gig. I anxiously look forward to show #40, and dare I dream that in say 2017 I'll be talking about show #70?!

Anyway, that about sums it up without rambling on forever. I've always kept an eye on the boards over the years, but never have been much of a poster. Maybe I'll change that....it'd be cool to make more LIVE friends. Charlie.

QUOTE(Greg @ Jan 31 2007, 10:20 am) *

before we took over i saw alot of arguing over stupid crap and alot of nastyness, I'd like that to stop theres no room in this world for that bullcrap, we wanna make this site so that everyone enjoys it. More patience and more understanding will never hurt anyone.

Way to go, Greg!I love the mood.

I will not say a lot. Those who know me, know me. My name's Dmitri and I am from Russia. I only know 4 people in my country who know LIVE. Anyways I have been a fan since 1999 and a FansOfLive user from back 2002 or 2003 - do not recall. It was the first LIVE site I discovered in the net. I wanna once more thank Dan for being a big helper for me and for all he did thru the years for me personally.

I am an administrator of one of the most friendly LIVE communities in the web (please do not consider this an advertisement booooogagaga) at www.wherefreakstalk.com and am really proud of it.

Fire away the questions if you wanna.

www.myspace.com/dmitriedpavlotski

at MYSPACE you can also listen to a cover to Simple Creed done for the last Cover Contest.

Enjoy

Okay, I'll be next then.

My screen name Gertjan is my actual first name, I'm a 34 yo male, single, living in the Live capital of the world, Holland (Ed's words, not mine). Ever since I saw Live perform at Pinkpop 1995 I'm a dedicated fan and part of the online Live community for over a decade. Starting from the original SOY mailing list and the legendary Live-web, I'm a regular visitor of this site though I don't post very often.

It's hard to express what Live means to me. As volunteer for the Dutch Live fan club, Live has become part of my daily routine. It's always there with me. I think I've seen about 25 shows now and every time they do a set of shows here I'm high on the music and the happy feeling of sharing it with so many friends and fans.

Currently MJ is my favorite album but I don't listen to their music every day, I enjoy other music too much. Muse, Radiohead, Stuart Davis, Jeff Buckley are some of my favorite artists but I like live performances over records so I go and see many local bands.

(I've a myspace at http://www.myspace.com/mezzjunkie but it's mostly dead... sorry)

Wow, there are alot of new people here! Ok, well here I go...

I'm Jen, 28 from York PA. You may know me as a coppergirl, CopperSunburn. My first Live encounter was hearing 'Selling The Drama' in 1994 and it changed my life. I saw them for the first time 9/19/95 and that was the 1st of 27 shows. Its hard to describe what Live means to me because they've influenced my life so much. I've seen places I never would have seen if it hadn't been for them...I've made friends from all over the country (and world!)....and found the best guy in the world thanks to them too!! (right here...literally!)

A part of me will always love them and always be pasioniate about them. I've drifted away from them in the past 2 years or so. Listening to the old stuff I love so much makes me a little sad sometimes because I miss that so much. Their last 2 albums have been lacking for me, but I'm not going to get into my feelings for that here, because I've had that fight way too many times, lol.

As for who else I am, other than a fansoflive poster.. well, right now I'm searching for a new job. I love to travel, I just went to Hawaii, the most beautiful place I've ever seen. My favorite places to be is either smack dab in the front row in front of a band or just spending time with the people I love.

Hello, I'm Frank - I'm 21 years old. I live in Holland/Live-land cool.gif
Well living in a country that is (as Gertjan quoted Ed) 'Live capital of the world', makes the chance you'll become fan big, but if I would have lived in another country I can't imagine that Live would have passed me by.
But oke! I'm a 21 years old student, I study at the University in Maastricht (in Holland) at the faculty of Arts and Culture.

Live attracked my attention by their video of TDC in 1999. At my age of 13 years old, I thought it was really good and cool. When I saw RTTW comin out after that I was like: hmm, again a song I really like...who is that band? My nephew told me a few weeks later at a party he would 'burn the cd with those songs I liked that much' (íts a great album, he ensured me). The album was TDTH, but I didn't was into all music in that time. Live really opened my eyes and offcourse I listened to that cd many many times.... Than came a day that I discovered my sister had also a cd of that band...TC! Why didn't I know that ?? I listened to it and I heard I knew a little more songs by them. LC became my alltime favo and Iris my favo rock song. Than I got the other 2 albums and bought every new album that was released at the release day cool.gif Live is just my band, my music. It's weird, but when I hear a song of them playing somewhere, it always feels like: hee they are playing a song for me.
So far I visted 2 concerts: Leuven, Belgium (2004) and Paradiso, Holland (2006). Offcourse I want to see them much more.

btw, my MYspace page is: http://www.myspace.com/frengotchi

smile.gif Hi, I'm Barb. I've been a LIVE fan since the early 90's. I'm 37 years old and live at the Jersey Shore. I've been to too many LIVE concerts to count. My good friend and I try to see as many LIVE concerts as possible, including flying to Orlando recently. I'm the mother of twin boys and I work as an office manager for a small company. I have a cleaning business on the side. All profits from my cleaning business goes to to my obsession with LIVE. Oh, I'm also studying for my Masters in Business Administration.
