I decided to go ahead and buy tickets for two nights at Coachella (Saturday and Sunday). Set me back $400 for 4 tickets, but it will be worth it -- the line-up is amazing!

I'm sure I'll be seeing Tool and NIN at some point this year. I also might be heading down to SF for the sleepytime gorilla museum/secret chiefs 3 show. Not sure about that yet, though.

Fuck Coachella (by which I mean fuck having a bigass festival in the middle of the goddamn desert). If that shit were somewhere that didn't suck, I might think about going.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about the very real likelihood of 100+ degree temperatures with very little shade and criminally expensive water. I have heard many stories of people passing out from heat exhaustion and/or dehydration because of the sun.

To make matters worse, I just learned that the organizers do not allow people to bring their own water into the festival. What kind of bullfuckingshit is that?

Yeah, that's absolutely disgusting! They had the same policy at Rock Werchter last year, but after two days of suffocating heat, we were allowed to bring our own bottles of water, but only without the cap! eh.gif Still trying to figure out the logic in that...

Just another way of making profit.

Exactly. The only way I would ever even think of going to a festival of that sort is if it were headlined by all of my favorite bands. Given the line up, I'm not about to go through all that to see a small handful of bands that I have only a mild desire to see.

Just saw Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers last night in Hoboken, NJ, great great great concert. Got to meet all of them and get their autographs, too smile.gif

Mikel Paris (who sometimes plays keybords for O.A.R. live) opened up the concert to support his new solo album, which is awesome, and which I got signed when meeting him after the show. It was his first ever solo concert (his album came out the same day). Anyone interested should check out his album, Flow, which features his unique style (guitardrumming)... it's really special and refreshing to see and hear. I know he didn't invent it, but basically he's perfecting it and adding major flair to it. It was definitely some cool stuff.

I liked it so much that I might be seeing him in his CD-release party next weekend at The Knitting Factory.
