My favorite live bands are

LIVE
Pearl Jam
and although not still playing together Stone Temple Pilots. Scott Weiland is an awesome front man. Saw him with Velvet Revolver but not the same.

Jeez, that's so weird! I saw them at Rock Werchter and they were awesome, then I saw them again last December in Antwerp and they totally blew me away!! Honestly, I've seen quite a few concerts, but I've never felt so much energy flowing between a band and the crowd! (must say: I wasn't at Live's HMH show in Holland last year; that probably would have topped it) The music and Matt's voice sounded awesome, the light show was really cool and they were definitely having fun! Do they play in big venues in the US?

They're in my top 3, together with Live and Admiral Freebee.

Muse play big venues in the UK - I saw them at the MEN in Manchester and that holds a good few thousand. I just found them totally unspontaneous and boring performers - particuarly Matt as every move he made seemed rehearsed. I had a great view, the acoustics were great, the light show rather spectacular, the setlist great and the crowd really up for it - all the makings of a great gig. But it somehow didn't pull together to that great gig it should have been - the energy was off in a way I can't even begin to explain. You'd have to pay me to see Muse again.

I've seen bands I don't like anywhere near as much as Muse and enjoyed their gigs more.

When I saw them the first time, they played in a really small venue that was not at all suitable for music. It was basically a concourse at a civic-center type hall, so it was really hard to see unless you were way up front, and the acoustics were pretty terrible.

I decided that that might have contributed greatly for my disappointment at the show, so when I heard that they were going to play at the Forum in Los Angeles (19,000+ capacity and the site of some of L.A.'s great concerts -- Led Zeppilin, The Who, etc.) I decided to give them another try. I'm expecting it to be loads better than the first time.

Bad acoustics really ruin everything! I had the same problem with Live's 'Best Of' show at the Brabanthallen in Leuven; I'll never EVER go to a show in that venue again, no matter who plays there! Even the band got irritated by it, and if they aren't enjoying it anymore...

I hope you'll get a better gig this time! rockin.gif

That so hard for me to imagine 'cause I've just seen such a great gig of them. Hey, to each his own, eh! smile.gif
But if it's the same to you, I'd rather pay Muse and see them again myself! tongue.gif wink.gif

^ Of course - and I hope you really enjoy yourself as the vast majority of Muse fans do!

I know I'm in the minority on this one, but I'll stick to the Hullabaloo DVD next time.

Aww I forgot about Adam! Shame on me! At this point I think Adam's shows are the only ones I go out of my way to attend. I just don't ever want to miss one.

Although I appreciate the Chili Peppers' energy, I have to say that Anthony Kiedis is a terrible vocalist. His range has always been terribly limited, but at a live show that flaw really stands out.

John Frusciante is a fucking legend, though.

I totally agree - Kiedis is as flat as a fluke and lets the rest of the band down in a live setting. As for Frusciante... the ONLY reason I went to see the Chili Peppers was Frusciante. I much prefer his solo stuff but any Fru is better than no Fru at all.
