Yeah, good job and well said.

I still disagree about the pop thing though. Other then The River and Mystery, I don't hear a lot of pop on this album. Contemporary and alternative I'll agree.

I don't think the old school fans will like it neither.

But where i feel this cd is different from anything LIVE has ever done, is the fact that Live's music has always seemed anthemic to me. Slow and melodic verses building into a smashup of loudness in some way shpe or form. This cd is much more even keel. There is really no build up in any song i heard that i can remember.

It is also much different due to the fact that it is far less electric then BOP or anything else LIVE has done. I agree that it is similar in theme to BOP lyrically but that's the only comparison I can draw.

As I said in another thread. A lot of it reminds me of something the Dave Matthews Band would make.

Can someone who have heard the album describe what is the weird part in "All I Need" compared to the other songs on SFBM. Obviously Dan just thought it was another "poppy" song, but there must be something weird about "All I Need" if Ed says so... Well, maybe...

I agree. I've actually been more excited about this album because I've liked the concert bootlegs, whereas I normally don't right away. I share the same optimisim regardless of how the old school fans feel. Come to think of it, I'm an old school fan - and I still like the new stuff.

No thanks, I bought their last album because I liked their first single. I thought the rest of the album was awful noise though. Waste of 13 bucks.

Yep, I thought "I Am Mine" was an excellent song, still do. The rest of the album was just plain bad. Maybe thats the reason why Pearl Jam don't want their albums downloaded. Parting suckers with their hard-earned money.
