Hey there, guys and girls!

I was listening to some Live songs just now (like I always do in the morning) and I noticed allot of songs are about a river or contain the word 'river'. Has anyone noticed this before and does anyone know why?

Oh btw, these are the ones I found just now, anyone knows if there are more?

1. The River ("Your burning skin to my river once again")
2. Pain Lies on the Riverside ("Pain lies on the riverside")
3. We Deal in Dreams ("The fool is by the river")
4. Lakini's Juice ("By the river, used to be so calm")
5. River Town ("And from a tiny River Town you came")
6. Simple Creed ("Spit you out on the riverbed ..")
7. Feel The Quiet River Rage ("Saved by the river now")
8. Dam At Otter Creek ("To the river flanked by love")
9. Lift Me Up ("Lying to you is a river of sin")

Water is probably the most recurring metaphor in Live's lyrics, you can't really look over it. The Ed has always linked it with "consciousnesses". We (the Dutch fanclub) had an article on this subject in one of our magazines, I can look it up if you're interested. Better yet, join the club tongue.gif

But hey Pain, I know another

10. Bring the people together ("So sell me down the river, I'll be waiting there in love").

Btw, I listened to Lift me up, and there's also another lyric in the song that's callin the word 'river'
"Like two rivers' eyes we roll back"

Ohw,and your list does contain a song of each album... the river has spread all over lol.gif

Believe me that river is not anywhere close to being awesome. It's narrow and it stinks. If you ever go water skiing in it make sure you don't run into any of the dead fish floating around.

I suppose from a distance in certain places it is pretty but I don't get why it has inspired a song or ten.

I remember listening to TDTH when I first bought it and thought...
Hmmm.. lot's of water songs, I'll bet Ed is a Cancerian. (Water sign)
I was right. No wonder I felt such a strong connection to the lyrics.

Dead fish is all you have to worry about? You should try the East River. You can water ski & slalom thru the syringes & dead hookers. And maybe some evidence of "sanitation workers". And quite possibly Jimmy Hoffa.
