As we head down the home stretch of chosing the best song by track position I would have to say that I have been very suprised by some of the leaders. For example, I would never have thought that Freaks was such a popular song.

I find track #11 to be a very difficult choice since it contains three songs that I personally love: Mother Earth Is A Vicious Crowd, Waitress, and They Stood Up For Love. Mother Earth Is A Vicious Crowd is my original favorite Live song. It will always have a place on my top Live list. Waitress has my favorite Live line "She was a bitch, but I don't care". Plus, the song just rocks. They Stood Up For Love is just a great song on TDTH and in concert. I was fortunate to be at the Muskegon Concert on Jun 29th 2004 when they played the song and later in the concert Ed said they didn't like how it sounded so they actually played it a second time. What an awesome moment. Plus, when the line "They Stood Up For Love" is repeated at the end I find it to be a powerful line. Therefor, my choice here will be difficult.

Here are the leaders so far. An (*) indicates that the vote is very close and could still be changed by only a few people:

Track #1 The Dam At Otter Creek (TC) (*)
Track #2 Lakini's Juice (SS)
Track #3 I Alone (TC)
Track #4 Run To The Water (TDTH) (*)
Track #5 Lightning Crashes
Track #6 Like I Do (BOP)
Track #7 Where The Fishes Go (TDTH)
Track #8 Turn My Head (SS)
Track #9 T.B.D. (TC) (*)
Track #10 Freaks (SS) (*)
Track #11 ????

Have Fun Voting !!! thumbsup.gif

I voted for They Stood Up For Love - I think it boasts some of the best lyrics, great melody, a brilliantly feel-good video and is superb in concert. the alternate ballad adds more depth to the song as well. But I can't ignore how brilliant Merica, Waitress and Out To Dry Are. Nobody Knows is great too...wow. Live have written a few good tracks havent they?

MEIAVC!

It just showcases the pure passion that Ed used to posses.

TSUFL is also a favorite of mine because like others have said it is such a great concert song. But it just doesn't top Mother Earth for me.

I'm not usually negative on this board, but we have gotten pretty desperate here. These polls are stupid.
Why the hell would you compare songs just because they have the same track number? Pretty dumb.

Your explanation in the Track 1 post:

QUOTE

The topic seemed to be popular so I thought it would be fun to put together the ultimate Live album by taking the best song from each track position as voted on by the fans!

So, just out of curiousity, how is it that the topic seemed popular? I don't see it discussed anywhere else. If you really wanted to make a "best of" album, you would have a vote based on the actual best songs (which, by the way, has been done many times on this board), not the best songs at each track number. But whatever, continue your polls - track 14 should prove my point.
