i think this is an interesting idea for a topic:
if Live were to cover any of your favorite songs, what would you like to see them cover?
i got the idea for a topic like this while discussing song covers with a friend.
One of my all time favorite songs is the classic 'Fly Me To The Moon', and even though it'd be difficult for a band such as Live, i'd love to hear their rendition of it. wouldn't expect anything too special though

Also i'd love to hear them do a cover of Neil Young's 'Keep On Rockin' In The Free World', i know that Chad T would probably agree to this idea

what are your ideas?

I'd prefer them to cover songs that are not among my "favorites." For the most part, when I hear cover songs of songs that I already revere and love, I end up being disappointed and slightly bitter.

That being said, there are some (non-'favorite') songs out there that I think Live could do a pretty good job covering. The Toadies' "Possum Kingdom," Depeche Mode's "A Question of Lust," and The Who's "My Generation" come to mind...

Britney Spears' "Baby One More Time". I had a dream once that I was at a Live show and they covered that song...it actually sounded pretty cool.

The band Travis does an awesome cover of this song from time to time. It really shows how the greatness of some songs is completely dependent on the band who is performing it.

I've thought that it would be ironic to do a cover of "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M.

I would prefer if Live stuck to "Live" material. Sure it's cool to cover a song, but I would like to hear more of their songs in a concert or on a CD. If I wanted to hear a cover song I would do it myself or go to a bar. I love Live and their music, not their interpretation of someone else's creative art.

I honestly just hate when any band does a cover song aggressive.gif . It's a cheap way for a lot of bands to make money. Some bands are only on the map because of cover songs. Thanfully Live is not in that category. It's like going to see a new movie that is a remake of an old one. No thanks!

Cover songs rock when done properly, for example Deadsy's version of "Tom Sawyer".

I'd like Live to do U2's "Bad".
