You can pre-order Live's new album at the Sony Store and receive a new Live poster and booklet signed by the band.

Also the Dualdisk will contain acoustic version of The River, Mystery, Love Shines, and Get Ready. It will also contain a making of The River video along with the actual video. And finally allow the album to play in a different type of stereo. The Dualdisk is 15 dollars and the regular is 14...so it is a very good deal.

There is also a River ringtone available at ListentoLive.com

Not a bad deal. I just spent $19 with the shipping and it says while supplies last you also get an autographed booklet (cd insert?) and a promo poster with your order. When I placed my order it put these two items in my cart so hurry up and get them while they're hot!

I preordered. Free stuff is always good, even if you just sell it on eBay.

this probably doesnt have any thing to do with the deal that the website has but at the moment im not sure whether i would get the dual disk or normal version, i'd love the dual disk but the original cd artwork would be great as well

I'm curious as to whether the "booklet signed by the band" is going to be actually hand-touched and signed by the guys, or just facsimile signatures printed on by computer.

I don't mean to be pessimistic, but I've never heard of a record being offered with anything autographed (except to a very small/limited quantity), and there doesn't seem to be a limit on how many of these pre-orders can take place before the autographed booklets are no longer offered.

Any opinions?

EDIT: I e-mailed Sony, and got the following response:

============================================================
All of our autographed product is actually signed by the artist themselves.

Sincerely,

Woohoo!! banana.gif

I'm a collector, so this gets me excited.

BTW, kudos to Sony for replying to my e-mail within, literally, 10 minutes. thumbsup.gif

Yeah I wondered about that too. SonyMusicStore mentions the Dual Disc features audio in "LPCM Stereo" and the tracklists says "2 Channel Stereo".

Wikipedia explains that "Linear Pulse Code Modulation (or LPCM) is a format that is a popular choice in music production. It can have up to 8 channels of audio at 48 kHz or 96 kHz sampling frequency and 16, 20 or 24-bits per sample. It has a maximum bit rate of 6.144 MB/s."

So I guess the audio tracks on the DVD use LPCM with the (standard) 2 channels, but possibly with a higher sampling rate or sample size to improve playback quality.

It'll probably be at 96kHz rather than the standard CD audio at 48kHz.

Did they take the dual disc off of their site or is it just me? Because I can't find it.
