It was one of the best Live shows that I have ever seen. Ed's voice was the strongest I've seen it in a long time. They all have their all and it was just an awesome show. The only negatives for me were the asshole groups in the left balcony starting fights with each other. It was pretty intense and distracting during Mirror Song and Turn My Head, and a Live concert is no place for that crap.

Setlist was mixed up nicely and you couldn't pick what songs was coming next for the most part. I was a bit surprised that they didn't play the River, but they did play Mystery, Wings, Show, and Sofia from SFBM. They also played Pain Lies on The Riverside and Iris which were both nice surprises. I don't remember the setlist order, and I won't even try to write it out.

Ed said it was their final show of the year and that the next album they do will be angry, because he's pissed that whenever he turns on the radio everything f^&* sucks. So good news for those who like an angrier Live. After tonight's show, I don't think Live is done at all, and i'm relieved. They seem like they can do this for another ten years, no problem

SJN1279 or other people who were at one of the last gigs: dit Ed really said Live's future work will be more angry? That's the news I was waiting for now for years! I need a dar record of Live now. SFBM was a great album, but I think they need to stop only bring up the bright music and deliver a great angry rockie album. And if the angry thing only means angry as on the V record, it's fine with me. But leave the bright side for a while and let's all hope that Night of Night at SFBM was the last track to symbolize the bidge to the sound of the new album. it's time to rockk again.

I hope that the next album will contain as well brightness as rocking anger, so that everybody can find what he or she wants /needs.
Maybe they can make also some rocking happiness again (like "Run to the water", "They stood up for love" and a sort of "Simple Creed" that more people like)?

First of all, if this post is accurate, it's great to hear that Live is going back to the studio to record a new album. I'm also excited to hear that the next album will have some anger to it. Live has tons of great songs that I truely enjoy like Turn My Head, Run To The Water, and Mystery (to name just a few) but I've been waiting to hear them just rock again for a while. Songs like Shit Towne, Waitress, All Over You, Lakini's Juice, and Simple Creed really get me going every time I hear them . It would be awesome to get an album full of songs that just plain out rock.

Hopefully the album will drop before the end of next year.

Ed was pretty sauced when he mentioned "the next album." He also said they are ready for a long break at the end of the show. I wouldn't expect a new "Live" album until 2008 at the earliest. They need time to work on other projects because after spending a year on the road together, they must be plenty sick of each other. However a few spot shows in 2007 could happen.

Glad to hear they're having a break - they deserve it! What made TC so perfect for me was the frustration that shaped the album so wonderfully (eg Ed ripping apart a holy text in the Selling The Drama video). If they do make an 'angrier' album I hope that it's not just for the sake of it, but rather the roots go a bit deeper than an aversion to radio. If Ed read half the stuff said about Live on this board then he'd have enough anger to keep him going for 2-3 albums!

I'm almost certain he said he was angry, but NOT angry like when you stub your toe. He said he was REALLY angry. Angry about all the F***** crap on the radio, everything except Gnarles Barkley "Crazy". Apparently that's the only good song on the radio right now.

i hate to be negative here, but c'mon now... ed's been upset about what's on the radio for YEARS. he used to tell the backstreet boys to 'fuck off' at the end of shit town (as far back as 2000) during shows. and that was AFTER they already put out what the majority of fans consider to be the band's last 'great' album.

personally, i expect the next album to hopefully have one or two pleasant surprises, but past that we're in a situation where if you like sfbm, you'll probably dig album 8... but if you hated sfbm, your disappointment in their next batch of songs will only grow.

has anyone ever stopped to realize that ed probably doesn't even know how to write 'angry' music anymore? he is an artist afterall, and the work of artists reflects what's in their hearts. ed's a father of two. unless he writes a really angry song about all the doody diapers he's had to change, i would not expect a lot of angst next time around.

I like the idea of an angrier record. But, as someone stated earlier, it can't just be "let's be angry because I said so" - kind of anger. If their main goal has been to spread love through their music for the last years ... Ed could just take a look at the world and see all the lack of love. Get pissed, and make a record about THAT. I sure as hell would listen.

This is good news. I hope they enter the recording studio and just jam spontaneously, writing new songs, lyrics, riffs on the spot. Nothing premeditated.
