If this garners enough attention we can bring a class action lawsuit against Sony or whomever is responsible for this debacle.

Forged autographs is something fans or nonfans should not tolerate whatsoever.

Maybe suing Live and its label could put them back on the map like we all wanted?

Just fold up Live.

Seriously though, why keep putting yourself out there to be sniped by releasing garbage and pulling stunts like forged autographs? If you can not live up to the promise you make then do not try to cover it up by having a receptionist at Sony sign for the band.

Bump.

I cannot believe more people have not responded to this horrible scam Sony and Live has committed against their consumers.

Shame on you!

Would anyone be willing to bring a class action lawsuit against the label or the band?

My only thing about it is how can you prove (unless you have video of the band signing the booklets) that they didn't sign them?

What would we gain from the lawsuit anyway? It was a free gift with purchase of the CD. I got the CD and as a bonus, I got the poster and an "autographed" booklet.

I am bummed, but a CAL, imho, wouldn't do crap. Besides... their lawyers have more money than we do.

Did anyone stop and think that the stuff they sign at concerts is usually when they're drunk or in a rush as they have 50 fans trying to get them to sign stuff. Perhaps they took their time with this as they probably could do it on their own time or make them legible for fans who weren't there to actually see who signed it.

Yeah, when I'd sign 1000's of posters/CD's, my signature would get sloppy. So they may be real although they look like total crap tongue.gif

Of course I stopped and thought of that. If you read my first post I clearly stated that I have over 2 dozen signatures from various members of the band in various situations. Be it sober or drunk, pre or post show, nighttime or daytime, the autographs I received IN PERSON all look similar. Fact is the signatures on this Sony shipped SFBM cover look NOTHING like the 27 autographs I have from the band.

If you do not know, do not comment. Jackass.

I do know and there's absolutely no reason to call me a name. I've met the band myself and gotten their autographs personally (as put in my prior post), plus I've seen plenty of others online and I know that they're not the same.

With that said, how you can you PROVE that they didn't sign them and what do you stand to gain from something you got for FREE anyway? You didn't pay for the booklet - you got it FREE with the purchase of the CD.

EDIT: I think you meant that reply to jaybb, but quoted my reply instead. I'm confused.

You\'re right I meant to quote jaybb.

As far why am I angry? Because I feel shafted by the recent offerings by the band. They should really just fold up and call it a career.

I've been thinking about this heaps cause I was heartbroken to think that the guys would let this happen - and here's what I've decided must have happened.

Someone in their management team suggested that they sign in a way that each band members name is easily recognizable to the general public and not just to those fans that already have/know what their autographs look like.

No professional in the music or any other entertainment industry would advise a client to sign something any differently then they have in the past.

That's just plain idiotic. Creating inconsistency in autographs not only devalues it, it makes them virtually inexistent of value.

Don't let your biased opinion fog up your perspective. Look at the facts and comment objectively.

Next.

I'd buy that they were real if ONE member's signature looked different, but all of them? That is so unlikely.

However, from a legal standpoint, you couldn't pursue any remedy against the band themselves. Live didn't offer you the booklet. Live didn't tell you the signatures were real. Live probably didn't ever see these things prior to their being shipped. Even if they did any of the above, you have no evidence to prove it. Your gripe, if with anyone, is with Sony.

As far as suing Sony, you'd have to prove you were somehow damaged, which you can't really show. You didn't buy the booklet. You didn't pay a premium for the signatures. They were thrown in for free. The contract of sale is for the CD, not a signed booklet, that was a throw-in. In actuality, you got exactly what you paid for: a copy of the CD, PLUS you did also get a free poster? So how are you damaged?

If Live was involved in this, they are deplorable. But I doubt it. It was most likely the doing of the record label, whom I am sure nobody is surprised to find out that they are deplorable.

I already heard all of SFBM before purchasing the album and signed booklet.

If I knew I was getting FAKE autographs I would NOT have purchased it. No one in their right mind would buy SFBM after having listened to all of it before it's release.

Sony/Epic have shown to be nothing but shady ever since they signed Live to a contract. They screwed Live with promotion on SFBM, why wouldn't they screw Live's fans with phony signatures. I would not put it past them.

Crustyclown80 needs to cut the shit-stirring down a bit though. If all your posts are negative and whiny about Live, do you honestly think anyone on this board takes your opinion seriously? Since you've registered for the board(probably because you were already thrown off under another name) you have tried to slander the band at every turn. If you want the nd to quit, that's fine. But don't think you are going to convince the majority of people on this board to share your belief.

Regardless of what you think of the album, you got what you paid for, plus a free (albeit counterfeit) gift. Is it fair? No. All I was saying is it wasn't actionable in court.

By the way, I think a lot of us bought the CD even though we heard it all before it was released.
