Yeah, at the very most. They're not folding after these two US shows, that's for sho.

I was gonna say, huh? I'm surprised Nick of all people would say they are done?

On the South African tour, I think someone said that Ed said "We'll be back soon." So I really think they're not done, especially not overall, but also for the time being.

Ed says a lot of things on stage. Didn't he promise Atlanta and NYC that they'd be back this fall? Plans always change. Ed's voice troubles and the fact that the band has toured non-stop for a solid year make me feel that they are due for a long hiatus. Unless something else is announced, Atlantic City could be their last public show for a long time or perhaps ever. If Live takes 1-2 years off from touring, there is no guarantee that they will return with the same line-up or at all. It also seems that Live's relationship with Epic is just about over. If/when the DVD is released, I wouldn't bet on a tour to support it. The band is at a crossroads and any touring plans past November 17th at this point are uncertain.

If you have an opportunity to be in Atlantic City on November 17th, I would take it. If you have to change plans to make, I'd do that too. I actually already did.

The Rosewood Theives have been confirmed as the opening act to this show and the Baltimore one. Can't say I've ever heard of them before.

Heh, that was me, by the way.

So does anyone know this band? Not that it matters, because Live is gonna kick ass and we probably won't even remember the opening band after it's all done, but I'm curious anyway.

I basically changed my mind about staying in AC that night, I'm just gonna head back to the city after the show. Rooms are ridiculously pricey, and besides, I have stuff to do the next morning anyway.

You can find cheaper rooms in Absecon if you want. Just in case you don't want to make the ride back in one night.

How much is "cheap"? $70 or $80 is really the most I can do. And I know "cheap" in AC is probably more than $150 a night. Remember, I'm in high school, and I don't have any kind of cash flow yet that would allow me to do much. I was pretty lucky to be able to afford the tickets, and don't forget the cost of travelling to AC in the first place.

Here are a couple of sites with info about the Rosewood Thieves and some of their music:

http://www.rosewoodthieves.com/
http://myspace.com/therosewoodthieves

They sound alright I guess, it looks like they only have an EP out, so they need polishing and work, but they're decent, while being unoriginal.

I'm pretty sure the last time I stayed in Absecon the room was about $80. I can't usually afford to stay in the hotels in AC either so Absecon is a good alternative. It's only a few miles from the boardwalk. Not within walking distance or anything but not too far either. I think I stayed at the Super 8 last time. It was decent and clean so you might want to check that out.

Ah crap. That would've worked, except I won't have a car. I'm getting there by bus (I think) and I'll bus it back to the city, too. Thanks for the info though. Anything walking distance from the venue that's around that same price?

And you should come to the show, by the way.

In my experience you won't find anything near the HOB that isn't $200 or more on a weekend. The best place to check would be the Flagship. It's very close to the HOB, a cab or shuttle ride will get you there, and it's a really nice hotel. I think I stayed there once for about $150. Any hotel in AC that is under $100, I would NOT stay in!

They also have a free shuttle service in AC that runs all night. So you don't have to worry about transportation if you're not within walking distance of the venue. Although it does only run in the city it doesn't go all the way out to Absecon.

Point taken. Thanks for the info, I'm definitely not staying in AC that night, it would be unnecessary and unwise for me. And, as Todd pointed out, things'll be fucked from the Rolling Stones concert.

So Heather, why can't you come to this concert?

Oh right the Stones. I'm sure there aren't any rooms left, I had forgotten about them.

It's not that I can't go to the show it's just that I don't really have the desire to. I'm bummed that I won't get to meet you though.
