After 5 years of running this awesome website, I will be stepping down from the webmaster position at the end of the year. I just don't have as much time and passion to devote to the site as I want anymore, and feel it is time to pass the torch to someone else who does. As a result, I am seeking out someone who is willing to take over my position as webmaster and to keep this place alive. I am seeking someone who wants to purchase the domain name (fansoflive.com) from me, and that is fairly knowledgable with HTML. The person who (may) takeover will have access to all of the media files (pictures/downloads) currently on the site, access to a newsletter account with over 1,600 members, and access to the message board - which has over 550 members. (Please keep in mind that I have not yet decided if the current design on the site will stay or what exactly will happen to the message board). Some extremely rare previously unreleased tracks from Live's earlier career may also be included with the purchase of the site. For those interested in the traffic volume, the site currently receives between 500 and 1,000 unique visitors each day (not counting the message board). If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact me at webmaster@fansoflive.com by November 30th with (1) your name and location, (2) any information about yourself that you may want to share, (3) why you want to take over this domain and how much you are willing to buy it for, and (4) what you want to do if you were to take over this place. Also feel free to contact me if you have any general questions regarding the sale of the site. If I find someone suitable to take my position after this deadline, I will post an update and let everyone know sometime during December - if not, the site will most likely be closed down near the end of the year.

Dan

Well guys - All things, good or bad, must come to an end. Just as this boards inevitable demise falls upon us, so will Live s long and tumultuous career.

Unfortunately for NectarDan, he is offering to sell this board in a down-market that no longer highly values Live. Surely he places high sentimental value on this fansite and will not get the monetary offer he is looking for. It is further sad that the rare songs Dan referred to in his speech will forever sit in his vault for this very reason.

gg, Live.

All of the unreleased material will make its way out to the fans in due time, where it belongs.

Dan, can you further clarify what you mean by 'due time'?
Does that mean we can count on everything being released in 2006 by you or are you saying due time under the assumption that the band will one day give us everything??

Sadly I think this is the only thing fans care about these days. We all know if Live is going to release anything it\'ll be worthless \"la la la la ba ba ba da da... etc etc\"

So spill the beans and release some goodies.

When I say "due time" I don't mean years, more like months. I plan on everything (I have) being out by sometime early next year at the latest.

Yeah Dan thanks for all your work. We all have appreciated it. How much money are we talking about? I would consider buying the site, if I could find a computer person interested in running it. I feel if we can at least keep the message board alive it would be a great asset for fans. The other board has too many restrictions right now, and we need a place to discuss rumors etc. There are enough fans hanging around that a good unofficial fan site is needed. We just need the computer tech guy to run it. No one can be as good as Dan, but we can try to make it serviceable.

Wow. Despite some of the recent disappointment I have had with the band, and some long periods in which I have avoided this site altogether, fansoflive.com has been a HUGE part of my life for almost 5 years. Of course, Dan has been at the center of it all, and I owe a huge amount of gratitude to him for graciously, elegantly, and selflessly running the site for so long.

I can say, without a doubt, that I have never been part of a message board that is as well-run as this one has been.

I know only a moderate amount of html, and I'm not sure how much money I'll have to offer, but I'm thinking of maybe putting a bid in for the site. I'll have to think about it, though. I think we all underestimate how much time and hard-earned money Dan has really sacrificed to run the site. Geez.

Well, damn.

My html knowledge is only very basic and I'm flat broke too, otherwise I'd do something.

Yeah Dan. I am interested in the site as well. Can you give us an idea of what you might be looking for to sell the site for?

Thanks

Hey Dan, I just got that email. Even though I don't really use the board anymore I wanted to say that this site has always been a very cool thing! And like everyone else is saying, it is much appreciated! I felt sad when I read that you were giving it up.

Good luck with everything!

It's kind of hard to put a price on something you have babied and cared for for over 5 years, so that's why I haven't asked for a certain amount. I honestly don't know how much I would ask for if I had to - that's why I left it up to all of you to come up with a price on your own. If you only have a small amount of money to offer, but you have a good plan for the future of the site, than it may go to you - money won't be the deciding factor in my selection process.
