ok..so i was at school late today and one of my friends came up to me asking if i had seen the news....i said no and she told me that this kid that ive known for a while and this other kid put a video on you tube and myspace...it was like some rap video thing...and the video made references to columbine and made statements of having a school shooting!!

this is the SECOND threat that we have had at my school and with all the stuff going on lately with shootings this is really scary.....jeesh why do people have to be so freaking STUPID!!

Young people often turn their frustration to violence as it is an out pouring of emotion. Perhaps your school needs to implement some programs around bullying and stress. Programs in Australia run that help young people deal with strong felings of frustration are Rock and Water, devised from matial arts backgrounds to help young people control their emotions and express them before they become violent. Another is Kinks and Bends but that is more based on relationships between young people.

Also America needs to re-look at the avaliability to guns as in the last 10 years peole dieing from gun shot wounds has increased dramatically.

I'm sorry you have to go through that, or even stress about it.

I graduated high school in 1991 ( yeah, I'm freaking old) and if someone had brought a gun into school I would have been SHOCKED!

I'll tell ya, the news isn't giving me any more reasons to want to have children no.gif

I know when you start highschool it does seem like youre gonna be there forever, but i think some kids just fail to realise that it really only is five years, and then its over.

perhaps you hav'nt been bullyed harassed and picked on for 4 years. that can drive anyone tto violence.

I myself used to lash out at other because the rage would build up.

its not just 4 years. its 4 years of hell for some people

well its five years here and dont assume i wasnt bullied, im just saying some people have a hard time comming to terms with the insignificance of highschool in the timeline of your entire life.

funnily enough i turned on the news tonight and a kid stabbed two kids at a school not far from my house. I think that kind of thing is preventable with good parenting and education.

I hear ya there. I think the same thing all the time. Luckily I'm single and have no male prospects at the time. But, eventually I'm going to start thinking about it more seriously. Right now I'm thinking I'd be better off not bringing a new kid into the world. Maybe adopting would be a better choice. Then I'll just be helping a kid that's already here.

i know that in some cases bullying plays a big part in it but with these two kids its different....they are like sorta the popular kinda people....really cool guys actually...just making a dumb move.

but im at school right now and im still alive so i guess we'll see how the rest of the day goes! thumbsup.gif
