Haha.. i'm gone for a couple of days and this thread has ballooned to 7 pages of total entertainment.

Oh well.. from what I've observed, not just here, but in literally all discussions of this nature, religion, as we know it today, is the problem. Religion gives God a bad name.

That, I do believe.

I think religion is a way to 'spell out' the moral code for people to try to live by. To me, God is just putting a tangible to morality. I think religion makes it easier not to ask the tough questions like 'Why are we here?' 'How did we come to be here?'

Just wondering, being a total non believer, does that mean you won't respect my beliefs, but you'll expect me to respect yours? Because that's exactly why I don't have any religious friends or associate with any religious people.I need to go door knocking promoting open mindedness. lol You can think for yourself, and still live a good life.

If you read my post correctly, you would have seen me use the word "fanatic". Are you planning on blowing up buildings or abortion clinics in the name of your belief, are you planning on committing mass murder for your beliefs, are you planning on demonstrating at the funerals of homosexual dead soldiers for your beliefs, are you prejudiced against a set of people because of their beliefs or lack thereof? ( This last one you've just proven ) Since this is so, then hell no I don't respect YOUR beliefs.

It's not just Nebraska that I'm talking about, it's the whole Midwest and South in general. no im not going to say that im wrong because religion is an oppinion and a personal belief....not something to be right or wrong about.....and unlike some people i can accept that not everyone is going to believe the same thing that i do.
