I'd say that my most memorable Live moment was the first time I met Ed, because meeting him was such a random surprise and, at the time, I really wanted to get to meet him someday because his lyrics are so inspiring and Live's music means so much to me.

My friends and I had just checked in to the Trump Marina before a Live concert and we got on the elevator to go up to our room. As the doors started to close, Ed and Matt Gracey jumped on the elevator and then the doors closed and we started to go up. As soon as he got on the elevator my heart started racing and I started to say to myself "Holy Shit, I am standing in an elevator with Ed!". So I am just staring at him like a mental patient and I give a look to my friend that was like "dude, that's Ed!". So my friend just says to him "Are you Ed?" Ed says "Yeah" and reaches out his hand and shakes hands with each of us and says "Hi, I'm Ed." I said hi, and he got off the elevator at his floor and the doors closed and I just thought to myself "Holy shit, I was just on an elevator with Ed!" I got to meet someone in the top 3 people in the world I would have loved to meet.

So after we drop our stuff in the room, we go down to the pizza place in the lobby to get a slice of pizza. And who walks up behind us in line at the pizza place in the lobby? Ed again! I said to my friend "Dude, we're being stalked by Ed!"

Two things, occuring almost fifteen years apart. The first treasured moment was being evicted from my apartment because I kept playing Mental Jewelry too loud. The other was in May of this year when I finally saw the band in concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco. The moment from that show that stands out was seeing Ed almost levitate during Wings.

Two moments

The awake tour, LIVE are playing at the Horden, its so hot and I feel like I've been waiting forever for the band. Than the intro starts, and the words light up "right here, right now" and there is Ed, standing in the middle of a stage, sunnies on, looking like a total God. I had been to other concerts but that moment was just awesome, especially is such an old school venue....

Than, this year, standing in the front row, less than one meter from Ed during the triple M garage session. Ed looking at me, full eye contact during "I alone" now my all time fav. song,, and than finally meeting him and getting a photo after the show. I feel such joy when I share these stories and my friends tease me because my eyes light up. Even better was when the web cast came out and I was is the video heaps, and there is evidenc that Ed made eye contact

I was getting kind of down on the band myself, so I decided I needed to remember the positive.

It was really about making peace with the fact that they aren't the same band I fell in love with. But they are still that band, and I will always love those songs and seeing them perform.

Will I like the new songs? Well, I haven't liked the last 3 albums, but that's ok! I like the first 3 smile.gif

Toledo a few years back

The crowd was small. Word was the band was pissed. End of the set Ed is finishing Dance With You and the rest of the band is gone. He asks everyone to sing along and the crowd doesn't stop.

Ed actually tells the stage hands to call the band off of the bus and come back because it is so cool. They had already changed but came back out anyway. They jammed the song for about 10 more minutes after that.

Also, my first Live concert when the lights were out at the start and everything lit up with the notes to Dam at Otter Creek. The syncraniztion was awesome.

Either
a. That moment that everyone has at their first Live show. Gasping at Ed walking out on stage with his top hat and cane, and my jaw dropping to the floor because I was actually witnessing it.
b. Meeting and crying to Ed on BoP tour. I finally got to tell him that he saved my life. It was incredible. Totally surreal, but incredible.
c. The montage at the start of the Awake tour shows. Particularly the first one I went to. I bawled. It was fantastic.
d. This past weekend. AWESOME.

Alot of great moments in time

but my favorite was,

Ed in between songs at Elserhalle, Munich says looking/smiling directly at me, "Hey mama, how you doing?"

me replyin', "I'm doing fine, take your time, brother"...

That about cracked my sweaty singing, I KNOW YA HEARD ME ! drunk and loud ass off that no ONE in the vicinity could record a proper video.

but hey, everyone knows love when they see it in your eyes- my crowd was great about it.

Plus who goes to a concert to sit pretty and quietly. I love the steamy less crowded venues!

oh and Adam K. sending me an email on myspace saying, "you made the evening"... that was righteous!

M/

Peanut butter jelly and a baseball bat!!!

okay there are a lot of Live moments for me.

#1 moment would have to be the time I met the band at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago. A friend of mine works security for a company in Chicago. But they are always moving him to different venues on different nights so I didn't even think to ask him if he'd be working that night at the Riv.
Well I bumped into him after the show, luckily inside, and asked him what a bunch of people were doing lined up against a wall and he said they were there for the meet and greet. I was like oh boy could you get me a couple of passes? He said he'd go check and be back. He came back and slipped the passes into my hand like a guy slipping the mater dei money for the best table in the restaurant.
Apparently they can get into trouble for doing stuff like that.
There were quite a few people waiting to meet the band at the back of the theatre so they divided us into three groups. Me and my friend were group three. So the band comes out and finally they let us into the area to meet the guys and who is missing?! Ed! We are asking Pat, Chad and Matt where Ed is and they said he went out to the bus because it gets too much for him with everyone clamouring for his attention.
We had our Live t-shirts signed by the guys and what moments before was complete hysteria was now disappointment because we weren't gonna meet Ed.
Granted we were happy to meet the other three but it's like getting to meet the Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger isn't there.
Well we walked outside and who is standing outside the bus having a cigarette?! Ed! And his bodyguard and another guy. We screamed like little girls and ran over to him and told him about being inside and him not being there. So he signed our shirts with a sharpie he had and we shook his hand and off we went to our car happy as pigs in mud.

the other moments would randomly be:

Throwing Copper being the first cd I bought. I'm a product of the 80's so not buying cassettes anymore was for whatever reason a struggle for me.

my mom was born and raised in York, Pa. so I've been going there since I was born. But going back since becoming a Live fan has taken on a different meaning and feeling. seeing them at the York Fair was pretty awesome since it's just blocks from my my mothers old house.

catching two drum sticks at two different shows.

going to a free show at the House of Blues in Chicago where Ed performed solo and I got to not only meet him and have him sign some stuff for me but get a picture taken with him that turned out excellent. I got it blown up and Ed signed it after the York Fair show.

going to the the House of Blues in Chicago for another free show this time being the entire band.

free show at Hammond, IN. months ago. even with all the drama of Ed and his voice troubles.
sorry but free shows will always be the best. not in quality but because they're free. duh. ; )

I thinks that's it for now.
