BOP has two of the greatest songs written by Live since a decade, which are Lighthouse and Like I do. Great rocker, even if we can pass on the lyrics of what I do. Again, the two are the only ones that are collaborations with Chad T.

Else, It's a little generic. Same song structures for almost every song. V was at least creative because of the change between TDTH and V. But to pretend it was a comeback to their roots was pretentious. No raw music, no creativity, really I can't feel that the Chads and Pat smiled during the recording sessions because I think Ed told them to shut up.

I don't listen to it with happinness. Just listen the bass in SS when you listen to the record loud.. Not predominant, but it's THERE. Do the same after for BOP. Where is it???????

You're such a fucking noob. How many times have we been over this very accusation? It's completely unfounded. Aside from perhaps a couple of random idiots, the majority of people here that don't like live's new work dislike it not because they've changed their sound, but because of the manner in which they have. I'm cool with bands changing. Hell, bands that don't change tend to bore the hell out of me. But change is not inherently good. You can't just point to an album and say "hey, it's different from their previous albums, so it's better than their previous albums". That's not how it works.

BOP is my least favorite Live album. Let me offer two lyrics which are the epitome of why I don't like the album:

I also agree with the criticism of the flat, overproduced sound.

Why does everybody like lighthouse? I think it's terrible. Especially that 'even if you drink...' part.

BOP is my second least favourite live album. I don't think any of the songs are very good. I enjoy Rivertown the most, and there are a couple of other songs I don't mind. (Haven't listened to it in over a year so I can't actually remember which these would be..)

Yeah, the production on BOP is terrible. It is over-compressed, but then very few aren't nowadays. The actual recording of the instruments doesn't sound too hot either, if I remember correctly. SS and TDTH have, by far, the best production & mastering.

I DO like The Sanctity of Dreams! Can anyone tell me what he/she thinks is wrong with that song compared with the rest of the albu? Ok, lyrics aren't very deep, but nice and cool enough and I like the way the song takes you from sec.1 and brings you with a positive rush till the end.

I hated this song from the second that it started. It, to me, sounds like a throwaway song that Ed found in the trash from Avril Lavigne. Pop crap at it's best (worst?).

My least favorite songs on BOP are Sanctity of Dreams, BTPT and, to a lesser extent, WAWFF.

It's kinda funny that this is turning into a thread more about how every album since V has been crap (which, to an extent, I agree with). Last night, I played my drums and played along with SS in its entirety. Now THAT is a dynamic rocking Live album.

The late comers can bitch all they want about the "older" Live crowd being "stuck" in our ways, but give me a break. Not one song on V, BOP or SFBM has the musical integrity of just about any song on SS. Specifically: LJ, Ghost, Unsheathed (holy shit, I forgot how much this song rocks) and GHGW.

I miss those days... and don't tell me that they (yes, THEY) can't write like that anymore... that's a bunch of crap.

I love bop! I think its a great collection of pop/rock songs that all fit together nicely in one album. Theres not one song on there that I dislike or skip when listening to the cd.

You meant it as a compliment to Live, but to me, it just makes the album seem even more meaningless than it is. Like, whats the point? Oh heres a cd. Everything fits nicely together. All the songs are formulaic. Its undeniably pop/rock. It's 'nice'. Yay.

I don't even understand this point of view. How can you be ok with artists that don't even attempt to do anything new? Artists that don't use evev the slightest bit of personal creativity? Artists that simply follow a simple form that has been used thousands of times before? Aren't artists supposed to be doing these things? Isn't that what makes someone an artist? Fuck.
