They are headlining! Which means I might possibly be able to see them play! (if not, i'm going there anyway to buy them a beer for putting me on the door in Radelaide, aww)

This brings up my tally to SEVEN GIGS in FOUR DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOO! Tonight is the first Melbourne show, could anyone please mention afterwards as to what the setlist is that they played?

i really really really want to know what kind of stuff they'll be playing here in Australia, even if the setlist is only slightly different, some solid information would be nice!

my first ever Live show, hehe in Brisbane, 8 days away kicking.gif thumbsup.gif kicking.gif

Was that for last nights show? cry.gif

My 4th Live concert, I went Friday night and loved it.
I was meeting my friend at 6pm at the tram stop, but got there a bit early, (5.30) due my excitement. So I thought I'd go for a walk past the Palais towards the beach and back. As I'm walking past, I hear them Singing I walk the line, so I kind of stopped walking and just stood there listening. Ed says this is a good version of a great song. I go the other way. I think they do a great version of a good song. Then they played Owner of a Lonely Heart, and Im thinking, hmmmmm...... I don't like this song. (They didn't play it... phew)
Anyway, I meet my friend, we have dinner and get there at 7.30. I get my t-shirt, we go in and sit down about 8 ish.
What can I say about Shannon Noll? The guy has a zero stage presence. He said something about the next song he was singing and the guy behind me yells out, "Make it your Last". Need I say more?
My first thoughts were that I'd rather see them at Rod Laver arena, a bigger venue, but the moment they came out, I changed my mind. I love it when the crowd sing along and on Friday night at The Palais, it was soooo loud. Especially during Heaven, All over you, Lightning Crashes and Selling the drama.
Friends had told me that you can't stand at the Palais, but the moment they started All Over You, up we all went. That song is awesome in concert. I stood up and danced when I wanted to, which was what most people did and noone told us to sit down.
The start of Lakinis Juice was different. When I saw them on the Awake tour, it was done in the wrong key, but this time the guitar sounded weird. I don't know what they did, I'm not a musician, but it didn't matter. I love watching them when they play it.
These guys have been my favourite band since I first heard Throwing Copper.
For those of you who think Live should call it quits, I'm thinking, are you serious? I love them more now than I did back then. I walked out of the concert on a high. I'm still on it, lol.
Being in the same room as Ed. Sigh.....
Ok, so it's a very big room, and there are other people there, but still, for me, it's something special seeing them in concert.

I know some of you want to know the setlist, so I'll try to remember what they played.
I may have forgotten a couple.

The opened with:
The River
Mystery
The rest aren't in order.
Show
Sofia
Wings
The Dolphins Cry
Run to the Water
Voodoo Lady
I walk the Line
Lakinis Juice
Mirror Song
The Beauty of Grey
Heaven
All over you
I Alone
Selling the Drama
Lightning Crashes
Iris
Shit Towne
White Discussion (played last)

Songs that I love and wished they'd played: Dance with you and Operation Spirit

For those of you who are in other states, I hope you enjoy the concerts.

The ticket was for Saturday night. I see the set list is already up so I won't bother retyping it here. I didn't go in until after Shannon Noll had left the stage so I can't comment on him, I can think of a couple of local garage bands I'd rather have seen as support acts in preference though.. Sorry you missed out on Dance with you, on Saturday they finished with it and had everyone singing the chorus as they went off.

When I first read they were doing Walk the line live I thought.. huh? I never got into the Johnny Cash version, Johnny's not my cup of tea, too much slurring. But I was surprised and I really, really liked it when they played it, and seeing Taylor go off tap a bit while playing it made it even better smile.gif

We stood (and sang and yelled badly) for most of it, on Sunday morning I was struggling to talk. I loved Lakinis' Juice, Voodoo lady, Shit towne and Run to the Water. I'd have just about cried if they didn't do Run to the water! Pain lies on the riverside seemed a bit bland to me, I thought it would be better live.....read "louder" than it was.

The reaction to stuff from SFBM was interesting, it didn't seem to "really" get anyone going like their other stuff did. They came out and did Rattlesnake as an encore and the place went off!! I really enjoyed the night except for fat arse whinger behind us who sooked about people standing up and singing, really.... why go to see them live if your only going to sit there?

I wish I could have gone to all 3 nights and there were a few other songs I would have liked to hear.....Heropsychodreamer, Selling the drama, White Discussion and Pillar of Davidson. Maybe I just like a little more stuff from the "darker" era but I still had a great time. And, no, I don't think they should quit playing, instead they should come out here more often!!

Awesome dude. So you finally got to see Rattlesnake live again? I was scared you didn't since you said you were originally only going to the Friday show. I'm happy for you yo.
