another Texas fan checking in - was at the Dallas show last night too. Not so lucky to make it front and center like I like it, but a few heads back left of center was good enough for me. It was one of the most amazing shows ever! Makes me wish I could road trip it down to Austin tonight to do it all over again. I've been looking at some of the recent setlists and reading some reviews... seems we're all getting some goodness on this tour - I can't believe we heard Mirror Song AND Iris - my two favorite songs and I was just beside myself - FABULOUS! Here's what we heard (order is way off and I may have missed a couple - not sure)

Mystery
Stood Up For Love
Sophia
Voodoo Lady
I Walk the Line
All Over You
?Run to the Water
The River
?Love Shines
Mirror Song
Iris
Show
Simple Creed
Heaven
Lakini's Juice
Dolphins Cry
Lightning Crashes
I Alone
Overcome
White Discussion

I too was at the Dallas show and must say - OH MY GOD!!! What an incredible show!! I was shocked to see them do the encore after only playing for an hour, but then they came back with 7 songs and a second encore. Very pleased after that. I had been waiting 6 years to see them since they came with Counting Crows to Smirnoff in 2000. This show was well worth the wait. It was hands down the best concert I have ever been to by any band, and I've seen some good ones (Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Bush). I was so pumped after this show that I was ready to drive down to Austin the next day for that show, but couldn't.

These guys put on the best concerts. If you have a chance, definitely go see them. My only complaint is that they don't come to Dallas very often.

Not that it matters but how many people were at the shows in Dallas and Austin? I'm just curious. smile.gif

I was at Dallas - they didn't play They Stood Up for Love. All others look right - but the order is a little off. I hope someone has the correct list! My brain is still a mess from that show!! One of the best I've seen!

The Dallas venue had about 200 seats and probably 1000 - 1200 people standing.

Anybody know why Live chooses such small venues? I'm not complaining as I like the intimacy of the small venue, but it seems as if they could make tons more cash with bigger venues.

Actually, I saw a capacity sign for the floor - it was something like 582 max! Itty bitty!

They can only accept the offers that come in.

According to the security supervisor, general admission max capacity is 1,500. The 582 max is when they have seats set up on the main floor. Additionally, the show sold out. People were being turned away at the box office about 30minutes before doors opened.

That seems odd. I would think they can pick whatever they want if they're willing to pay. I've spoken with the guy that runs American Airlines Center in Dallas, and he said anyone can rent it out for about $50K per event.

Yeah, anyone could in theory, but if they don't sell out the venue (or get near a sellout), then they wouldn't make a profit.

U2 nearly bankrupted themselves from 1992-93 and again from 1997-98 due to similar reasons. Nothing their fault, but people just didn't come in.
