Chad Taylor writing new music for? Options

I think Alexou is bringing up a good point. I mean, I doubt Chad was very happy having to be reduced to playing soft, effortless, cheesy guitar riffs like those on The River and Mystery. And I don't see Ed doing too much else besides Live-related stuff. Yes I know, he has a family, but so does Chad (if I remember correctly). I, too, think Chad needs to get more involved with the creative process (or lack thereof) behind Live again, including, like people have mentioned, the songwriting, musicianship, and maybe even the production.

We could use some "killer rock songs" from LIVE! I think it would be good if Chad started to produce LIVE's songs, and took more part in the songwriting. That might bring back the edge to their music.

Tabee, I doubt that Chad would have played the stuff he did not enjoy. He def can not bethat happy, but I def (yet again) am glad he is jamming ANY song with LIVE. And seems to be ejoying it.

I think that Chad has decided to be low profile in the band (studio) since the crisis in the V era. Remember he was mad because Ed did everything alone in the writing process. After a depressing time, he has just decided to have fun with the band without doing too much effort. It's a bit sad, but he seems to enjoy it. I like to see him in concert still. Only two solos in BOP and one in SFBM. Even in the one on SFBM, Ed is signing over it for some time.

In Montreal I saw the soundcheck. They were working on the intro of Sophia and Show. For both, ED was deciding EVERYTHING. He told Chad to find something relatively easy and melodic. After a couple of tries, ED said that it was ok and then he did the same with Adam for the intro of Show. So it's really ED and the rest nowadays! I think you know that already, but this soundcheck still blew me away because of how other band members can't put their part.

Sad. Didn't know that he had a crisis during the V era. It makes it more clear why the last 3 albums sound the way they do.

His myspace says that he has written nearly 50 songs for Georgie Case-the main character of Barely Breathing, the tv show he has been trying to get on the air for the last few years.

Yeah, pretty sure that's how it goes, and to add, Chad posted something online that seemed even suicidal in the unhappiness it conveyed. Anyone remember this too? I think it was taken down after a day...

Yeah I'm curious about it. For years I complained about how he could improve himself as a musician. We all know that he could put nice guitar lines to many Live songs. Think of Voodoo Lady in concert. On this tour he put less than in TDTH tour. Why?..Anyway. This stuff for the TV show could be cool. Want to hear some!! I now believe that he is better than what he does with Live. Are there people that have seen him play with other people than Live before?

Ed's not the only lead vocalist to do this in a soundcheck... or a concert, for that matter.

Good for Chad. Creative inspiration is something you can never really suppress, it has to come out somewhere sometime.
