Firstly to all those that i offended by miss reading what song you were all talking about im sorry.

Dylans is the best! thats it I cant help it if your only in it for the guitar.
Dylans voice was much more soulful and beautifully done. Covers can never have as much soul as the person who wrote the song in the first place.

See I'm not a fan of Dylan's voice at all, the man couldn't sing. Write a song, yeah, but sing - no. Hendrix also couldn't sing, and I'm not overly fond of his guitar playing, he's good but I think overrated .. he just doesn't make my jaw drop like some guitarists.

But still, I'd prefer his over Dylan's, that voice is like nails down a chalk board.

If anybody is interested in hearing Live's version of All Along the Watchtower, then I've uploaded an mp3 from their Melbourne 2004 show. Live have only played this a handful of times...

You might want to reconsider your self-proclaimed nerd status of rock before you start asking questions like, 'who is SRV'. You sound like an asshole - especially when you can pontificate about Dylan. And just so we're crystal clear, there's no sarcasm here whatsoever.

I've been searching for this for quite some time. I love the song and I think Live does it justice better than any other covers I've heard. (Now f I can only figure out how to get the file of the site, I'm extremely computer illiterate) thumbsup.gif Thanks for the post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did there you go.

A simple Stevie Ray Vaughan would have been better. Braeking every thing down to initials doesnt mean we are all going to understand what they mean.

you all get my point.

That's bullshit. If you're going to start talking about the blues, there is no room for error.

... at least you spelled "Vaughan" correctly. Good job with the copy 'n paste.

this is the version they did from central park in 2003. like all versions it starts out slow, but trust me, it picks up. the ending is fantastic.

I think that anyone that claims to know anything about music knows what SRV stands for. Most people refer to him that way. If you don't know, you certainly have no business talking down to other people about what they do and do not know about music.

I really like DMB's version of that song. They did it the first time I saw them live wayyyyy back when and I nearly peed myself.

OH oops, I better clarify, DMB stands for Dave Matthews Band.

Im only new to this internet shit. In the real world for me any way Acronyms are used to describe services not musicians.

I've never met a single person in my life that has refered to a human or even an animal as an Acronym.

So i guess only pretentious prats on the internet do that.

get a grip on yourself
