Jesus is my God/ my belief/ my faith. My religion is Christianity cool.gif . I believe in the bible with the understanding that although it was inspired by God, it was written and translated by man. Therefore, a couple of manmade mistakes are in the bible nod.gif . That being said, the mistakes do not take away from the message of Jesus rockin.gif

Lively Chick: Fantastic post! thumbsup.gif
Wambangalan: She didn't say that other religions are wrong.
And I can't imagine that she thinks like that.
I believe in God too, but I know that other religions have the same value too, and I will be surprised if Lively Chick disagrees with that!

Surprise! surprise! surprise!. Sorry darling, but you wont have to imagine cause I'll break it down to you now. No, I'm not on some fucking Ed trip that all religions are right. no.gif To me that's just bullshit! I do understand though and believe that all religions are important to each individual, just as how mine is to me. And for that I say tolerance. We all have free will. We all have the right to believe or not to believe ( you agnostic bastards! talktohand.gif sad.gif hi.gif ) whatever the fuck we want to.

Well...

Aren't we lucky to live in a society where we aren't persecuted for our beliefs/non-beliefs?

In my many years of education, I've read and learned many things that lead me to believe that there is A God. There was A flood.. and Jesus lived. But so did Mohammed and countless others.

I believe that Jesus is the son of God and all the rest. But I also believe that my way of thinking is no more right or wrong than someone who believes in Islam or is Jewish. I know what the bible says. But like it was stated earlier. The bible was written by men. And we are preached to by men who tell us how they see things.

I don't necessarily believe like Ed. But I do follow his belief of making your own decisions when it comes to your spirituality and not letting some wacky preacher man lead me off of a cliff without using my own brain.

I'm far from arguing with anyone, so before anyone says anything.. NAH!

Hahahahaha....religion? WTF is that?

Fuck god, fuck jesus, fuck the pope. Fuck em all except the holy spirit which lives on in many great people. It is the only entity that does anything good for anyone in my opinion. Believing in these fake ass symbols doesn't mean shit.

I see hundred of church going jesus fanatics that are the epitomy of hypocrisy. They claim to have the greatest of faith in jesus and are oh so adamant about following "the path." But in reality, they are some of the most ignorant, insensitive and rude people out there. They lack true compassion and their self fucking righteousness is unparalelled.

In my opinion, those blessed with a pure faith in the holy spirit are the ones who posess pure love and utter greatness. In my warped perception, I find no connection to the holy spirit and jesus nor do I to god. I simply find them to be symbols of what the holy spirit is.

So why wouldn't God rectify these mistakes? If God wants his message to be heard and be clear, don't you think mistakes in the bible are probably the first thing he could fix .. at the wave of a hand he should be able to make every single bible in the world say exactly what they're supposed to.

There is a pretty cool show I downloaded a few episodes of, some American show called .. eh .. Penn & Teller Bullshit .. or something, they did a pretty good job at ripping the bible apart.
But my fav anti-religion show, and not just atacking Catholics is John Safran vs God. Not that it really ATACKS religions but just the way he presents it pretty much turns everyone into .. well not even an athiest because he goes after them as well .. the aussies here should know this show, anyone seen it when it was on?

I also love the little question that seems to stump God as well:

If God is all powerful and able to do anything and everything, then he should be able to create a stone so heavy that he can't lift it, but if he couldn't lift it then he can't do anything and everything because he was unable to create a stone that heavy.

Pokey - 1
God - 0

I love religious arguments cos they go nowhere.

So what makes the spirit holy if there is no God? Where does this Holy Spirit come from? I'm just curious. Some Christians, like people in most religions are like you described. Some are also some of the greatest people you'd ever meet. My Grandad was as hardcore Irish Catholic as you could get, never met a more religious person personally in my life. But he was also the greatest person I've ever known and the most selfless and giving person I've come across. I was brought up to believe what he believes but since then decided it wasn't for me but I can also see that even though it's not for me and I don't believe it's right, it might still be for other people.
Who knows what my Grandfather or others would be like if they didn't have faith in God, to me it's blind faith, but it's faith none the less it might all end up being bullshit but if it's what makes them a good person then they should just go for it.

This I agree with. Because at the end of the day my little post won't change anyone's mind. Nor, will they change mine. Pointless really.
Faith is a personal thing. A relationship between someone and God. Its all up to the individual. There must be something, circumstance and/or experience in one's life to lead them to such a realization.
My take on it is that all these questions about this & about that, that c'mon now, lets face it, will never be answered by man. Specific questions about the of origins of the universe, questions about God. No man can answer these questions. Big bang theory my ass. sarcasm.gif That sounds like some porno to me. Where Jenna Jameson at?
Whatever questions I have I'm contented enough to wait until I see God to ask him for myself.
