This is what I think needs to happen for Live's next album to be the best it can be:

1. Ed needs to distance himself from the Ken Wilber subculture for a long while before the songwriting process even begins.

2. The band need to write the songs together.

3. Jim Wirt should not be used as producer. Try Jerry Harrison or Chad Taylor instead.

4. Chad Taylor needs to stand up and assert himself to Ed, even though it might create conflict, and insist that he have some influence on, and creative control over, the album. The same goes for Gracey and Patrick, who I am afraid are content to go along with the flow and make money off the Live business without insisting that they exercise their creativity.

5. The album should be written in York and recorded in Lancaster at Moontree Studio.

6. They should disregard all concepts of whether the album will sell well, be considered "pop" or "rock" or any other expectations and just create music that is inside of them.

With their current maturity, talent and experience, I honestly believe that if all of those 6 things are done, Live would make the best album they have ever made.
