Last night I had the pleasure of attending the Collective Soul show in Atlanta. What an incredible show. They started by playing 4 songs as a band before Ed Roland took center stage alone and played Youth on acoustic. He then left the stage and Join Together by the Who started playing as the kids from the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra took the stage, joining the band for the remainder of the 2 hour set. It appeared only about half the number of kids from the orchestra were there compared with the 2005 shows they recorded on DVD, but they were still incredible.

CS also treated us to a new tune which sounded incredible. Despite the personnel changes of the past few years, the band sounded as tight as ever. Joel's guitar work was incredible!

If you have not seen the Home DVD or heard the CD, I strongly suggest you pick it up and you will understand.

Hey thanks for the review! I've been reading some reviews over on the Soul board and seems that everyone was once again blown away! I agree with you on Joel. He is an amazing guitarist!

Are you going on The Rock Boat by any chance?

For the past few months they have been on the top of my list of bands to see. This review makes me want to see them even more. The Home cd is absolutely incredible start to finish. They love Atlanta and the youth orchestra made the cd ten times better. You are lucky...glad you had a good time.

I wish I could, but apparently they're not selling that one in Europe. The last shop I've been to wanted to order it for me, but they told me our DVD players won't be able to read that DVD format anyway, so it's kinda useless... sad.gif

Loved their (very early and short) performance in Werchter, btw! guitar.gif
