These U2 sound-alikes never did find what they were looking for
Blessed with the same spiritual longing as U2 — but, sadly, none of the musical cunning — this Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, quartet made a brief but insignificant splash in the early ’90s as purveyors of grandiose, vaguely uplifting alt-rock. Although their hold on the mainstream had evaporated by the end of the decade, their blend of loud guitars and portentous lyrics helped pave the way for crypto-Christian rockers Creed. Nice one, Live.
Appalling fact The album title Secret Samadhi derives from a form of Hindu meditation.

I mean I could understand it if they put them there for Songs from Black Mountain or .. anything post 2000, but ripping on Secret Samadhi as the reason they're on the list is a bit harsh.

I'll rip on the new stuff all the time but I'd listen to it any day over anything U2 has ever done, they fucking suck.

The Doors and Toad TWS, as well!? Are you f*cking kidding me? Of all the suckfest bands and solo acts in the world, these three end up on the all-time worst list? Pa-lease. Blender is dead to me..DEAD!!!

That's exactly what I thought the first time I saw the list a few years ago. LIVE and Toad are in my top five favorites.

The Goo Goo Dolls and Spin Doctors are two others I like that are nowhere near the 50 worst in history; and I even like a little bit of Creed, to a lesser extent.

Okay I love "Birds of pray" less, but even that album is good according to me!

I'll admit that I had a "WTF?" moment the first time I listened to SS. It was when Ed first started going from being a regular weird rocker guy to a weird religious spiritual rocker guy. I can see how a lot of people would have been put off by SS following the straightforward rock album that was TC (although TC has its spiritual undertones as well).

I can see how a critic who was put off in that manner would call SS their worst album. I do think they'd be wrong in doing so, but I understand the logic. Its my 3rd favorite Live album, personally.

Yeah, Live is one of the worst bands ever. They've just had lots of hits, two number 1 albums, one of which is apparently their worst album, and their best album has gone platinum 8 times.
