As we seem to be discussing the other albums here too, here's a question: am I the only one who almost never listens to the Awake album? (the cd, I mean, not the DVD)
It's not that I don't like the album; I just that most of my fav songs aren't on it. smile.gif

btw, is Susquehanna a SS outtake? (there, now I'm back on-topic! tongue.gif )

I took the DVD out of the case and made an Awake II disc with the songs I thought were missing. Rules were. at least 2 songs from each full length album, studio versions only. Also, a few are less popular songs that I like playing on guitar and got addicted to, so they are probably not on anyone else's list. I included the following:

1. Heaven Wore A Shirt
2. Take My Anthem
3. Good Pain
4. White, Discussion (how is this not on their Best Of CD??)
5. Waitress
6. Gas Hed Goes West
7. Heropsychodreamer
8. The Distance
9. Where Fishes Go
10. Sparkle
11. They Stood Up For Love
12. Face and Ghost
13. Vine Street (ok, had to throw at least one b-side in there)
14. Call Me A Fool
15. Deep Enough
16. People Like You
17. Simple Creed
18. Forever May Not Be Long Enough
19. She
20. Lighthouse

6. Stage
7. Pillar of Davidson
8. White, Discussion
9. Century
10. Insomnia and the Hole in the Universe
11. Heropsychodreamer
12. Freaks
13. Gas Hed Goes West
14. Sparkle
15. Voodoo Lady
16. Feel the Quiet River Rage (or Vine Street, still haven't made up my mind)
17. Deeper (there's a studio version of this one, so it counts, right?)
18. Deep Enough
19. Hero of Love
20. She
21. Like I Do
22. River Town

hmmm, might need an extra-long cd for this one... smile.gif

Yeah, I was listening to V a lot at the time. I'm one of the 5 people on this board who actually enjoys it.

And, I could have done another disc if I really wanted to.

One of the 5? What the fuck....

Anyway, i'm bored so i'm gonna write up my version of 'B.O Live'.

1) Pain Lies on the Riverside
2) Peace is Now
3) The Dam at Otter Creek
5) T.B.D
5) Pillar Of Davidson
6) White, Discussion
7) Rattlesnake
8) Lakini's Juice
9) Graze
10) Gas Hed Goes West
11) Feel the Quiet River Rage
12) Meltdown
13) We Walk in the Dream
14) Dance With You
15) Nobody Knows
16) Hero Of Love
17) Overcome
18) River Town

Done. And they'd actually master the cd so the MJ songs are at the same level as the rest. And it wouldn't be in chronological order.

It's a decent album, but I think it was one of Live's worst efforts. It sounds to me like Live wanted desperately to not write Throwing Copper II, be mysterious and sound dark, and all of that comes off as very pretentious to me. It lacks the innate energy that all of their albums have, and feels the most awkward. That's one of the greatest assets SFBM has: it sounds like they really wanted to write those songs. SS sounds forced and lost.

They went to Jamaica or somewhere, got stoned and wrote it, how could it not sound totally different to the others?

BTW SS is one of my favourite albums ever.

This is why most the lyrics are so fucking pathetic.

drugs dont equal bad music or lyrics. maybe different but look at pink floyd. as much as i seem to hate tool more and more everyday i do need to quote this.

"If you dont think drugs have done anything good for us do me a favor. Go home tonight and take all your tapes, all your cd's, all your records and burn them. Cause do you know that all those musicians that have enhanced our lives over the years, Were really fucking high on drugs."
