. whatever, i like his voice and live's music and continue to be a huge fan. i agree his lyrics are becoming redundant, but i don't care as long as he sings them well.

Nice said. That's the same way I feel yahoo.gif

i really feel bad for anyone who's personal beliefs are influenced by his writing.

don't get me wrong..... i never said that my beliefs were influenced by him. they're not. i just was wondering what the heck ed was singing about... it was just confusing. but, now that i see that most people don't even give a crap about WHAT he sings, but rather HOW he sings.

i can do that.

also. i know that i was suppose to get an answer for someone about something in the bible... i haven't found it yet.... but i will keep looking.

aliveinnorway,

i asked someone on a different board that i thought might have a better answer for you, and this is what they said:

QUOTE
Hey gotigerz, tough question huh? I think it's a depends question. In other words it depends on what the "Hard times" are caused by. God looks at things totally different than we do (His priorities are different) For instance, if by allowing someone to go through tough times, an indavidual turns to God and is saved then the tough times served there purpose, and the salvation is of course their reward. We grow through adversity, when things are going good we tend to drift away from God, but when things are going bad we seek God and are forced to rely on Him, this in term strenthens our faith, which is important to God. Now if I understand your question, we will be rewarded for our work. As Jesus said in Mat 6:19-20

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

I believe those treasures are given for a Christian's work. If a Christian suffers for Christ then I feel that his rewards will be great in Heavan.

Also in 1Pet it states

1 Peter 4:12-19 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society

"Suffering for Being a Christian
12Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 14If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 16However, if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. 17For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18And,
"If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"[a]
19So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

In conclusion, from what I read that if we go through hard times for Christ sake then yes, I feel we will have greater rewards in heaven. But just going through hard times for hard time sake? No I don't believe we will be rewarded for that. Just remember one thing though, God is a perfect judge, and he does take all things into account. Hope this helps

well, thanks for your replies, and i'll always be a fan of LIVE's music, but i'm no longer a fan of ed kowalczyk....... just his music. i had a pretty good idea that he wasn't singing about anything that i believe in, or at least not in the same way that i do.

Do you only like people who have the same ideas and thoughts which you have?

I think that's so scary!

Some things might be shocking for you if you really listen.
For me it was hard and painfull too at the beginning to think seriously about the lyrics.
But please, open your mind for it seriously.
You can learn so much from it!

GvB.

well, if knowing God personally and believing in every word of the Bible (old/new test.) is close minded.... then paint guilty across my forehead.

look, not everyone is going to believe my way, and not everyone is going to believe your way.... so, if i'm close minded for not believing in your way...... are you close minded for not believing in my way?

No, but I think it's quiet strange that you liked Ed until you found out what he 's singing about.
And now you don't like him anymore and the only reason for that is because he believes in a way which is different from yours?

I do not always agree with him either (but often I do).
But the things I don't agree with or have difficulties with help me to look at things in different ways.

Please, don't feel attacked by me, I'm only giving my opinion.
Do with it what you want to do with it.

GvB.
