Is anyone else going to this show? Has anyone been to the venue before? I just would like to know what the place is like.

Thanks!

Hope so see some fans there!

Hi Nick,

I'm going to the show and have been to the venue a number of times before. My band has actually played Northern Lights four times. The venue is located in a strip mall, right next to a Gold's Gym. There are two bars in the venue and the stage is in the far left rear of the venue. The sound is decent and I imagine the place will be packed. I think the venue has a maximum occupancy of 900, but I saw an Our Lady Peace show a few summers ago that must have had well over 1000 people and it was hotter than hell! Being February and all, it will no doubt be much cooler this time around.

peace, lowell

I saw OLP here a few months ago. The venue is basically a very over-sized bar. "Intimate" is a nice way of putting it. Lowell pretty much summed it up. Since I live in Clifton Park, I flipped out when I heard they were coming here. Myself and a group of friends will be going.

Are the sight-lines to the stage unobstructed? Will I be able to see from the back of the club? Does the venue have parking and is it in a relatively safe area?

Thanks!

The parking is pretty safe and well-lit. It's like the parking lot of a shopping center. From the very back of the club - no, you won't have much of a view. From most places, though, you should be satisfied with your sight lines.

I went to Northern Lights for the first time yesterday to see Seven Stories Falling. I saw the smallness of the venue, and the smallness of the stage, and realized how close Northern Lights is to my apt. in Albany and I said, okay, even if its the same setlist, I gotta see it. What is Ed and the band gonna do on such a small stage?! Maybe a new song or two? Haha! beautiful

I really wish I had considered going to this show earlier. I totally could book my ticket now, drive over there and be there very early for a good view. But, a lack of someone to go with is a bit of a problem since everyone has work on Tuesday AM. sad.gif Have a good time!

What'd everyone think of this? As a huge Live fan, I of course had a good time. As I noted in my review, though, it wasn't the same. This I blame on the venu and crowd. There was just something about the crowd, or at least where I was standing, that just wasn't right. It was lacking that electric vibe that usually accompanies Live concerts. I was over by the entrance to the women's restroom, near the sound board (with all the dials and levers and things).

Since it was such a small venu, though, it was much easier to connect to the music and really feel it. This aspect of it I enjoyed.

Where's your review at?
