Normally I don't post in off topic, but I am so angered by this right now. I encourage all of you to read these (though I warn you some of this may be extremely offensive). I am not homosexual, but I strongly believe in equal rights. Also, my brother was killed in Iraq so personally this is extremely offensive. I think it's important that Americans (and others) know that somehow there are TRUE idiots who take their free speech too far.

Whether you are gay or straight, for the war or against the war, American or not, and regardless of your religion, I strongly hope that you do not agree with these people.

Who cares what these fucks believe? Some people are on the extreme right and some are on the extreme left. Luckily most of us are somewhere in the middle and find statements such as "The scriptures are crystal clear that when God sets out to punish a nation, it is with the sword. An IED is just a broken-up sword," Phelps-Roper said. "Since that is his weapon of choice, our forum of choice has got to be a dead soldier's funeral" utterly ridiculous. guitar.gif

it seems to me that this rev. phelps is a weak minded devil enthused fool. He in no way is doing the will of GOD.
I pray for your brother torcatoism. He died for a cause he believed in. So it does not matter what others say. But i also pray for rev. phelps, so that the grace of God may heal his sinful soul.

God Bless You

Coming in a little late here, but I am tired of people who believe free speech should exist in the workplace. There are some wackos out there. You may have views about your co workers beliefs and what not, but keep that shit out of the workplace.

WTF? I can't believe these idiots are serious. I don't know what God they worship, but the one I do sat and ate with sinners, tax collectors, prostitutes etc to prove that he loves everyone. He also said judge not lest you be judged but I guess they did not read that in their bible or the part about loving thy neighbour. I'm just shaking my head right now. Unbelievable.

These idiots are just sooo misguided it aint even funny. And about the death of the soldiers they said

"Number of Americans who have entered hell as result of this bloody takeover of Babylon:

2,475

WBC Prays for it to be 244,475!!!"

They pray for more deaths to the soldiers and destruction of their own country!!!! no.gif no.gif Somebody needs to shut these people down.

Them and NAMBLA ( North American Man Boy Love Association) That's a site that teaches pedophiles how to evade the police and how to successfully molest boys no.gif but that's another issue.

Free speech gone too far????? HELL YEAH!!!!!!

Basically, "Reverend" Phelps and his followers arre stuck in the old testament days and have totally disregarded the existence of Jesus Christ.

Ok, now I, being an aspiring Christian minister, am discusted by the showing that these people are putting up. This is exactly what Osama bin Ladin started out doing with Islam, until he started attacking what he called "The Great Satan." It is people like this that could cause a huge disaster in America. While free speach is protected under the Bill of Rights, I believe that some other Christian groups, such as the head body of the church I attend, should put up a defense to this because we have people serving in Iraq right now. Its slander and libel that they say God promotes the death of these soldiers. I am pretty sure not every single Christian organization believes this.

You would be correct. Fred Phelps has about 200 followers (I think. I could be way off, but I refuse to go to his website to see if I'm right or not), and most of them are members of his immediate family.

Justice has been somewhat served.

nod.gif Life is good.

I hope this will put a halt to funeral protests. I'm glad society is changing to favour tolerance.

Unfortunately, free speech means exactly that. People are free to say what they want, even if it is hateful, vile and inciting violence.

Fortunately, the vast majority of people can see the Reverend Phelps is using the free speech many soldiers have died to uphold and protect to make a complete buffoon of himself.

Better to live in a society that has free speech and people like this can make an open idiot of themselves than not have it and have deluded crack pots like him actually running the country. Be thankful that you're living in the USA, UK, Europe, Australia etc... and despite your government being a pain in the arse, you can, at least, criticize them without mysteriously disappearing or getting shoved in a dungeon for 20 years.

Ignore him - don't give him the oxygen of publicity and don't even waste your time getting angry about him. He's not worth it. As for Reverend, he's as much of one as I am and I'm an atheist!

I'm not so sure how free our speech really is. See all of the engineers who came out and said that there is no way in hell the WTC towers fell because of the planes hitting them, then one by one retracted their statements a few days later. Our speech is free as long as Big Brother wants it to be.

It's free enough for you not to get tracked down and used to prop up a motorway bridge for what you've just said. I think...
