Did they offer up their bass and drum playing abilities as collateral in the settlement? Otherwise I'm not seeing how that would prevent them from playing. Admittedly I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about, but still...

Glad I checked this forum. While I knew CT wouldn't be there, I fully expected the rest of the band to be original members. This band has been awful with fan communication and this only makes it worse. People should be told they are coming to see Ed K, not Live. Is he the new Stephan Jenkins???

At this point I'm just glad to see something. Bummed out that there's no shows near me. Hopefully when future shows are announced Chad and Pat will play. Gavin tours as Bush. Ed touring as Live really isn't any different.

Live is way past their heyday, the fact that any variation of the band is still moving forward is something a lot of you seem to take for granted.

My guess is Ed's just getting started. Could be something else but he might tour more aggressively than Chad or Pat want so they'll drop in when it's right for them. These shows are pretty soon, maybe they don't have the proper time to rehease in advance with Ed. I'd assume as long as Ed tours as Live CCP will all get their designated cut so they all win in that regard. If he just tours as Ed that wouldn't be the case. In a way he's actually working for all of them, helping everybody out, and putting shows out their for the fans.

Just have to enjoy it for what it is.

I just spent some time reading IG and Facebook comments re: the announcement for this set of shows. I wish I hadn’t read them. The majority of comments are ungrateful complaints, blaming Ed and calling him the same kind of names they did during the split/solo years. I don’t understand all the hate. Līve fans just spent 2 1/2 years in an absolute drought, when many of our other favorite bands did fan appreciation type things during the pandemic, have put out new albums, and have already been touring extensively. The years of silence drove me crazy more than anything. I was even worried about Ed and his health. Poor man’s beard has turned completely gray, probably over the drama of the two Chads. Finally, Ed tries to do something to get the ball rolling and what happens?… He gets shit on. It’s really infuriating. Some people ought to be ashamed.

Managing a bunch of grown men that never grew out of their adolescence with matching sexdrive and egoes can't be easy.

Ed mentioned that he controls 55% of Live and CG later added that was because he joined his 15% with Ed’s 40%. So it would imply that CG is at least on board with this even if PD isn’t.

The irony of the situation is that in the early 2010’s CCP toured as Live and there was debate as to whether they should be using the name or not. Now we’ve got the mirror opposite with Ed using the name and the same debate.
