The 90’s were an incredible decade, most definitely. I don’t have the delusion of Līve ever regaining that epic level of notoriety. However, I refuse to accept their ages as an excuse for them being stagnant.

Have you seen the Red Hot Chili Peppers lately? They are 8 to 9 years older than Līve. The album they released this year, Unlimited Love, with 17 tracks, is INCREDIBLE. It’s their best music in 20 years. They are releasing a follow up album, Canteen Dream, in October. Two albums in a year. TWO! On their tour, they are playing 18 songs and each night, the setlist is different. Anthony & Flea are all over the stage.

Age is just a number.

Agreed. Not expecting live to return to their peak. Some effort and passion is what I think the fans are hoping for.

Exactly. Even some signs of life right now would be good… baby steps.
How about starting with a formal announcement of who is lead guitarist. Changing it on their official website/a new, updated picture would work. CT’s info is still there. It would be one baby step forward.

Yea, they need to release that song. It’s a great autobiographical rocker ballad.

It won’t align with current state of band, but tells a story of before 2016

This interview left me feeling there really is no one at the wheel. Periodic sightings on social media followed by long periods of nothingness.

You've heard the phrase "spirit was willing, but the body was weak." Maybe Live are the reverse of that. The body is willing, but the spirit is weak.

But fuck it. If they get something going again, I'll be there to check it out. I'll always be there to check it out. Why wouldn't I be? I've been following what they've done/been doing for almost 30 years. I'll always be a fan of this band, even if what I'm a fan of mostly exists in the past. It's proof that they did something at some point that kicked my ass. And if they did it once, they could do it again.

Beyond that, I'm not wasting any more energy worrying about piddly shit.

I'm impressed anyone actually made it to the end of that new RHCP record

Thanks for the link. I've had a quick watch and the multi-cam footage is pretty cool.

So LIVE is still Ed, CG and PD? And LIVE might tour again, at some point. That’s what I got out of it.
Guess some real updates might not come soon.

Ah well, the drumming was nice. There was quite some rage against CT at some point, djee... I know Bill doesn’t like him, but this was a bit awkward. CG kept quite cool and professional tho.

CT's dad commented, thus Bill's response.

They'll tour again for sure with Zak.

Many actors never watch the finished movie or TV show they appear in. I haven’t read my college essays since college, and don’t even know what I wrote about. If I had superfans who memorized the words to my essays they’d know way more about them than I do. Even if my essays became famous, I likely wouldn’t read them again very often if ever.

QUOTE(OutToDry @ Jul 31 2022, 1:11 pm) *

Have to highlight your post. This is spot on. Especially Live fans, they’re just insufferable dreamers with unrealistic visions. Heck, sometimes I have some unrealistic thoughts on what should be done, but I know from personal interactions and just rational thought, what is real and what will be brought forth.

At some point does reality overtake your thinking process and realize each band member has their own lives to live. The band 24/7 like it was in the early years is no more.

They all got day to day family stuff to handle, some more than others.

If Gracey can’t remember his favorite city it’s more perhaps he’s got too many to call favorites, etc.

I’d venture a guess things will be more quiet until logistics on some shows can materialize

I’m sure Ed’s got some new material to bring to the band

Shit, he had some good stuff from 2016 that was great ensemble pieces

Keep the faith but keep it real. All kidding aside. Some more reality should hit the wall eventually

While I generally agree with the takes here, job description of authors isn’t to “ perform” their essays every night. Musicians should have some connection to the music their have made, or say you have no connection, but the lack of knowledge is strange in my opinion. Fans of authors pay $20 for a one time book payment versus music fans generally pay much more for the album and then subsequent concerts etc.

None of this really matters but the board is slow again.
