QUOTE(SecretInsomnia @ Jun 2 2022, 4:17 pm) *

Ed stated in a second reply he’s “not in anyone’s band”. So... yeah. But hey, at least CG still seem to think LIVE exist. In some form. Maybe. And CT still plays guitar. Or... at least sells them.

Whatever this all means, quite nice Ed is interacting quite a lot with fans and followers again.

About new music, he says ‘stay tuned’, although I realise that doesn’t mean anything.

So you’ll think this is some kind of big release and gets attention or will it fade away like the colab Ed did on someone’s album months ago. Which wasn’t that bad but yeah... just no one said anything about it.

Worth mentioning he also said “interpret the “reunion” however you want,” putting the reunion in quotes. sad.gif

I don’t know if his posting and interacting with fans will continue. I mean, it only took him, what, 3 years to come out of hiding? If he knows what’s good for his career, he should keep his presence and the music going.

Did anyone else notice Hynes sucked up to him in same thread and he liked it? What?!?! Now I’m really conflicted. omg.gif

I found this, wonder if it will be the same mix?

Super disappointing that it's not the original vocals in this mix.
My initial guess is that these weaker newly recorded vocals will be part of the release, and i'm 50/50 on whether the mirage will be the backing track.

Interesting, what did you think of all those electronic remixes on The Garden EP?

Those remixes are not house, techno, bass, or trance. They're just pop. So, it's not really interesting to me. And the songwriting is pretty mediocre as well, not much to sample from.

Also, did anyone see this comment and reply on Ed's Instagram post promoting the Avira mix?

Wow. We went from a new release from Ed, and suddenly shifted to news about the state of the band.

Ed says Live was never was much of a band except in name. Talk about gaslighting!

Denouncing the reunion as well, hard to know for sure he's being honest about whether the band reconciled their differences.

Gotta wonder if there is a future for this "not much of a band" to collaborate again under the name Live. It would appear that Ed will be solo for the indefinite future.

Just watched and, ehhh. I don’t know about this. My 12 year old does this on his computer and probably could of done something comparable with original vocals.

Literally anyone with decks can sample the vocals and put a backing track to it. Agreed.

So I should retract my 50/50 statement about taking someone else's track - but much more likely that Avira will produce an original track to go with these shitty new vocals.

I won't tell you how to raise your kid but for sure have your kiddo make a proper LC sample and throw it together with some trance beats and melodies.

I am not familiar with the EDM world but would be great if this actually gained some traction. Would introduce a new generation to Live, which isn't a bad thing at all.

I would be stoked

Thank you for explaining, as I was unfamiliar with who/what Avira is. This could be really good or…. really bad. I do like the PLOTR club mix though. smile.gif

i like it too but there is absolutely nothing EDM about the PLOTR club mix lol.gif

So Ed just said Live is dead. Never was much of a band, wasn't really a "reunion ", and he's not in anyone's band. Not a shocking revelation but these are powerful statements from the lead singer of Live. This is big news and a sad day for hopeful Live fans. Seems like these statements should have their own separate thread.

Glad I got to see their second to final show at Universal in Florida. With the reunion revving up I ddn't know that Covid would change the world and that Live was going to be done. Also didn't think that Local 717 would be their final new release. Guess that's it?

Trying to find a positive, "stay tuned" on new music. Maybe it's a sign from Ed that Goose Blackstone is on the way?

They are the original vocals, just sped up and manipulated.

Honestly, I love that you said this! And I'm a huge fan of your compilations.

I've had people question my ears before. I'm telling you - not the same as the original.

If you want me to point out some of the differences in the singing I will isolate a couple seconds that would leave no doubt.

Might be a mix of original and new vocals. At first listen, I thought it was original for sure, with Ed singing in the lower register akin to TC. But at the end, I was almost certain I heard some 'new Ed' style coming through.

All of the vocals are not from the original song. They're a re-recording.

Live - Lightning Crashes - Rockband Isolated Vocals.WAV

After some hunting, I downloaded the Rockband stems for Lightning crashes.

I put the .mogg file into audacity, isolated the vocals, and uploaded it as a .WAV file.

Enjoy! The beginning has some subtle differences between the Avira vocals and the original vocals.

Singing begins at around 25 seconds.

Dangum, just noticed this
