Ed Kowalczyk worked with Avira on a new version of Lightning Crashes. The song is being released by Armada Music, and will be out on Friday June 17th.

Ed and Chad G have already taken to IG to talk up this new version.

Finally some music from Live, and a positive turn!

If you love EDM like I do you know all about Armada - Armin Van Buren's label. Super legit. Alot of these big name DJ's just played at EDC.

I've often wondered how Live's music would translate to house, techno, trance, bass.

Could you imagine Lakini's juice sampled in a dubstep track or Public Affection's - Libra sampled as a trance remix?

If I ever pick up some decks I would want to make these things happen for sure.

Also, did anyone see this comment and reply on Ed's Instagram post promoting the Avira mix?

Damn. I had to go look to see if it was real, and it is.

May not be what some of us wanted to hear but it's better than nothing, I guess.

What puzzles me is we all know how ugly the breakup was, then they get back together and it's all "It feels right" "We're old friends" "Time heals all wounds" kind of sentiments, and then for him to say "never was much of one"..?

I'm not slamming him for his statement, but that sounds like a Chad thing to say in terms of melodrama.

Interesting, what did you think of all those electronic remixes on The Garden EP?

That is what I’m asking. First sentence makes perfect sense.
Then, “not sure what to announce” confuses me.
Is he saying we were all duped?

What I read from this is that Ed feels Live was never much of a band, except maybe in name, so the end of Live is not really something worth announcing..?

Ed stated in a second reply he’s “not in anyone’s band”. So... yeah. But hey, at least CG still seem to think LIVE exist. In some form. Maybe. And CT still plays guitar. Or... at least sells them.

Whatever this all means, quite nice Ed is interacting quite a lot with fans and followers again.

About new music, he says ‘stay tuned’, although I realise that doesn’t mean anything.

So you’ll think this is some kind of big release and gets attention or will it fade away like the colab Ed did on someone’s album months ago. Which wasn’t that bad but yeah... just no one said anything about it.

I am not familiar with the EDM world but would be great if this actually gained some traction. Would introduce a new generation to Live, which isn’t a bad thing at all.

Thank you for your interpretation of what he said. I think you’re right.
And it’s sad. 30 plus years of brilliant work disregarded and fans disrespected. Why should we care any more either?

Thank you for explaining, as I was unfamiliar with who/what Avira is. This could be really good or…. really bad. I do like the PLOTR club mix though. smile.gif

At least Ed is speaking about and excited to release it.

So that's something.
