Gracey ain't going anywhere! facepalm.gif

Live is definitely not done with, far from it.

Yes, I'm privy to why there's been no gigs, silence etc, Unfortunately I can't say anything specific about the reasons. Except to say that it still might be quiet on the Live front for a little bit longer.

My guess is touring will occur again in 2023. (personal opinion)

The music industry as a whole is still on it's knees because of the pandemic and government restrictions. So many tours keep getting pushed back. There's nothing wrong with musicians doing other types of work, they still have families to support.

Have faith, Live will be back 100% banana.gif

2023? If they pull that, how many fans be left when they decide to return?

Nick, I'm only speculating that 2023 would be more suitable. Perhaps maybe in your summer of 2022, that part I honestly don't know. I only know why things are quiet.

Probably the same exact amount of fans. Live hasn't done anything particularly interesting in 20+ years.

Those on this board, including myself, have stuck around for way too long and a few months wont make a difference.

Their fanbase is only getting older. They haven't done much to bring in anyone new.

Live is and always will be my favorite band, but the silence during the pandemic is very hard to defend. People were looking for comfort, other bands stepped up, Live did not.

Live haven't brought in new fans for a very very long time. One year won't make a difference.

The band hasn't been a good partner with the fans, its as simple as that.

That's a very unfair statement to make that other bands have stepped up.

Three of what I would consider the top 5 bands in the world have done virtually nothing in 2.5 years.

U2 last played December 2019. released no new music since
Metallica have played 3 shows in 3 years, 2 of those being recent. Released no new music
Muse last played October 2019, released 1 song this year

There is absolutely no point releasing new music if you can't immediately tour on the back of it. Bands make very little these days on album sales thanks to the likes of Spotify , streaming etc.

Be more understanding Nick, please!

Metallica posted a full concert video on YouTube every single week for months during the early stages of the pandemic.

Look at the hundreds of videos on their YT channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/metallica/videos

How many videos has Live posted? Zero.

Bands don't need to release new music. Live has got plenty of unreleased tracks they could have shared.

Exactly. Live has done less than the bare minimum for a long time. The stale set lists and 4 song EP pre-covid are examples. There is no way one can argue live has been engaged. It’s true that the fans don’t know the full story, but that’s why some are looking for Live to at least acknowledge the fans in some capacity, it’s not difficult.

I’m not even a Metallica fan and I’ve heard enough rumblings to know they are fixing to do big things, including a Las Vegas show with Greta Van Fleet (love them) and 2022 South American dates with GVF. If GVF can release an album in 2021 and tour behind it, Līve could have done the same with that “album” they’ve had sitting on the shelf for how many years now? I would have been over the moon with a new song. -What about 10,000 Cups?

Even if Līve didn’t want to release new music, as dangum & others have said, there’s a plethora of other ways that this band could have touched base with their fans in the past two years. Stop making excuses for their idleness.

If they do come back as Gerry has promised, if it’s the same “running through the motions,” stale setlist and total lack of effort, stick a fork in me, I’m done.

U2 had a new song for Sing 2, Bono was in the movie, and new album is dropping soon.

Ed was set to release a new album, and something happened behind the scenes, and it was shelved.
Ed has since dropped off the grid, luckily Dangum found the song in January.

Pat is literally touring right now. In fact, he's playing two sold out shows back to back this Friday and Saturday with Daughtry. It's a fallacy to argue that Live couldn't immediately tour if they decided to do so.

The world is still turning while Live stands still.
