If you knew that side of things, everything makes sense. But, you and every fan out there are not aware of these things because it is none of your business.

If Live doesn't own their music they managed to get licenses from the copyright holders of TC and MJ, and strike a deal for the re-releases.

So, in your theory, Live doesn't own the music [correct!!], but they acquired a license to re-release Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper, then had their former record company release it to the public.

For Gruno to state the business dealings of the band are none of the fans’ business…. okay, fine. Then what is the business of fans? The following things, as so eloquently stated by this fan, earlier in the thread.

Do you know what is in their control? Their social media, their hands, their pens/pencils, their fingers, their guitars, their drum sticks, their voices, their motivation, etc. etc. A lack of info about a Secret Samadhi anniversary edition is but a microcosmic example of a larger ghosting by the entire band. It's almost like they... *gasp* ...don't give a shit. Not even about the casual fans who only care about "that one song back in the day about gross baby afterbirth."

I get this isn't one-sided. Without the band fans would have never had a lack of info to bitch about, but without fans the band would have been driving trucks or skinning hunted deer. I won't argue over the equality of that relationship because there's really no way to quantify that level of give and take, but every marriage has a given and take, and like it or not that's the closest comparison. And people, like me,, are giving attention to what appears to be a black hole. Why should they, or I, keep doing that?

Have you contacted the entity that owns Secret Samadhi to ask if there will be a re-release since you aren't getting answers direct from the band you constantly complain about? You might get your answer within minutes if you did some due diligence. However, your existence here appears to be complaining rather than seeking out the info.

I'm ignorant too. I don't get it. I have no idea who owns the rights to the Secret Samadhi sessions or the business structure of the MJ and TC 25th anniversary releases. Congrats for being in the know. We all acknowledge your superiority so you may cease your grandstanding and diminishing of others.

What I do know is that this topic is addressing a (possible) 25th Anniversary release of Secret Samadhi. You seem to know something. You're obviously not going to share anything except that the fact that you know something...which to us is really, well, nothing.

Good discussion, Voodoo Lady!! However, I think some topic points are joined together in your thinking, when, they might be best served as individualized items.

Be upset all you want. I never have mentioned to anyone to not be upset or disappointed for having a wish list of something they would like to have released from the band Live. I have my wish lists at the ready.

That's your connection to Live. That has nothing to do with me or anyone else.

What attention do you give them on social media accounts? If they post something, it comes through your feed and you either scroll by or check it out. If they don't post anything, it doesn't take any attention away from you.

I don't care about social media posts from band members of any band. My interest is the music, not their lives. I follow band members to see if there is action on the music front, but I don't need to see their personal day-to-day stuff. If I did that to all the musical acts I like, I might start to judge their music differently, as opposed to strictly music.

Yet, here we are… the few fans they actually have left keep coming back because frankly, how we feel is our business.

Now, for this message board. For you to say fans keep coming back. Back to do what? Complain, berate, ridicule? I definitely see all that. Need links or screenshots? Refer to threads with Think Loud as a starting point. Do a forum search for the term 'loyve' and see the comments attached or what they are in reference to. How do you categorize a fan such as that? VERY curious about this topic.

There is so much thought and discussion here about Live that has nothing to do with their music.

If people don't like their recent EP, that's fine. Comment about your dislike for the songs. In that, is there a need to repeatedly ridicule or berate the band for making music that someone doesn't like? How many years ago was that EP? But, there's a faction here that will keep on and on about their dislike all these years later.

Then, to only to be chastised for actually still giving a damn.

Integrity and the moral code leave no room for discussion when questions arise regarding contracts.

My point about bringing them up is the fact that people want to go forward and claim that Live can do whatever they would like with the music that was recorded under contract from a record company, when they have no clue about any of that business. Those people have no idea if UME owns the music, Live, a 3rd entity, a 4th, etc. If solely owned, who makes the decisions? If a partnership between multiple entities, who has the larger controlling stake, or is it evenly split? If multiple partnership, how is the voting breakdown? All these are just options that could be possibilities, yet, no one here mentions any other possibility other than Live being solely responsible.



Some here might think I, or others, are holding back info. On the contrary, it shows I honor friendships and business relations. Integrity. Those that don't see it that way... well, you gotta ask them why they choose the ignorant path.
