In July of 2009, Live announced that the band would take a two-year hiatus to work on other projects. This was the start of a long split ended by reunion shows in 2017 and the release of Love Lounge in 2018.

I believe Live's last concert was Feb. 20, 2020 (I'm glad I was able to see them a few days earlier on the 16th). They have not performed since and have not released anything since Local 717. Multiple bands have found time to release new music, stream performances, and tour since Covid became reality, but not Live.

With the calendar turning to December of 2021 Live is less than three months away from completing another two year hiatus. For all intensive purposes they have been dead for two years with no sign of life in sight.

Since the announcement of their grand reunion in December of 2016 they've recorded and released four new songs and a cover. If you count the cover that's an average of one song per year. It's obvious that they are no longer a studio band. Holding out hope they are still at least a touring band.

I've lost the will to care if they tour or not. In my opinion, a band like Live that sinks into just being a touring act is a waste of time, a shadow of what they were. I wouldn't waste my money going to see them.

The only thing that will interest me is a fully collaborative album of new music.

It’s extremely disappointing.
It has been said that “a girl’s favorite band has never broken her heart and has yet to leave her.”
This band has managed to do both things. sad.gif

I’m deciding there’s no way they are still a studio band. No way.

If they are a touring band, why aren’t they touring or trying to tour, like pretty much every other music group in existence?

Which leads me to believe they are neither.

Therefore, why does Līve’s social media account (and Chad T.’s, for that matter) try to portray they are still together? Pulling the wool over fans’ eyes is wrong.

All of this leads then back to a thread I had titled with this question: Where is Ed?
Whether they are studio, touring, or non-existent should not keep him silent or hold back his solo work. It has been almost an entire year and we’ve seen hide nor hair of him. What kind of rock star goes silent for a year?

An update of any kind would be nice.

Ed hasn't been active on social media in nearly a year.

It's all very weird.

Covid killed their touring deal.

And i'm guessing the lawsuit might have killed their studio, free time, inspiration, etc so there goes the recordings we have been hearing about at least for now.

Loy piped in so at least the heart of the band is still on board.

I see that as an excuse that doesn't hold up. Covid and a lawsuit could have been inspiration to create art. Suffering can be a catalyst for some excellent artistic expression.

No... what I'm seeing is that they are different people now. They've drifted into other interests. Chad gracey is an insurance agent now and Chad Taylor seemed more into business investments and partnerships like his stuff with Aurora. No idea what Pat is up to. Supervillain?

Ed might still be into music, but it's been a far cry from the energy and emotion of his 20 year old self. These guys are 50+ now and may not be interested in the hectic life of rock stars. People go through different phases in life and this is clearly not a musical one for Live's members.

If Loy is the heart of the band then there is no band.

I see gracey is an insurance agent now

I just saw this too on his LinkedIn. I still, still, still check in here hoping they'll rekindle the magic someday. Seeing this gave me real pause. It might be time to let go of my delusions.

Why stop now, though. At least this way I'm looking forward to good music.

This downtime really seems like the band is officially into a dormant phase.

I'll surmise/hypothesis as follows:

The lawsuits over UFD / Think Loud Companies may have caused a major fracture with the members once united. There is reference in another thread here to some members not following others on social media. So, I wonder who is not talking to whom in reality.

Some members have been reported to be doing other occupations: CAG insurance, PAT fishing, maybe odd jobs too. Ed silence has no indication of any creative work happening in music, so I would estimate he's being a family man with his brood. CT, who knows......Looking for his next whatever?? It seems that everything he touches turns to shit.

There was a news article earlier this week saying 210 was sold by Kinsey group to another 3rd party buyer and the internal TL offices are locked up tight, studio is in limbo / closed permanently??

Just thinking clearly, how can they get out on the road and perform is there is no opportunity or internally it's looking impossible with all the above??

Let's hope and pray things can be put on the straight and narrow and get back to rocking sometime in the future.
