Since we're on the topic of Candlebox after the posting of Kevin's COVID concerns, I figured I'd toss a mention that their new album, Wolves, is out now. I pre-ordered it when they did their online sales over a year ago, and it arrived in the mail yesterday on release day. I was pretty happy about that, even though it's also on all the streaming services. Going to give it a listen this afternoon and read along with the giant lyric sheet paper that was included in the cd sleeve.

Update: From reading the liner notes, Dave Krusen is credited for the studio drums. Robin Diaz is the touring drummer.

OK, after listening to Wolves non-stop for the last week, I'm super impressed with it. Standout tracks for me are Riptide, Trip, Don't Count Me Out, and if you only listen to one song, Criminals. Put some headphones on, sit back, close your eyes and just immerse yourself in the goodness.

Also, it seems that Memphis Hennesy played guitar on it, so 2 of the 5 are former TGF.

If you like good ol' rock and roll music, check it out. It's streaming pretty much everywhere, including YouTube, so you can listen for free.

I watched a great interview with Kevin on YouTube that was posted on 9/20 from Metal Edge. Turns out that Chris Thorne helped write two of the songs, and that Kevin took out two PPP loans to pay the band last year during the lockdown.

You can find the results of the AMA here:

Someone asked about how he felt playing in TGF (he put AGF) and the answer:

"One of the greatest bands of all time!!! Loved sharing the stage with Chad, Pat & Gracey, my brothers from other mothers."

That was a good read. Kevin answered quite a few questions.

Somebody should have asked Kevin if he could allow TGF to be added to the Live Music Archive eh.gif

I got curious and checked out the LMA, and you're right... there's no TGF. That said, some Candlebox stuff came up and Kevin Martin and Adam Kury did two acoustic shows back in 2014 where they played Cryin' Time. I couldn't find anything on YouTube, so I think this might be the only times Candlebox covered TGF.

KM intro's it by saying it's from "one of his favorite records".

Candlebox recorded an acoustic version of Riptide and posted it on all the usual streaming places, as well as a YouTube video:
