Tour cancelled this time (instead of postponed)

ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT +LIVE+ TOUR TO SOUTH AFRICA

A message from Andy Mac at AMP Events:

Thank you for your patience and understanding around the +LIVE+ Tour scheduled for South Africa. By now you’re well aware of the many curveballs the concert industry has been facing since the start of the Covid19 pandemic. It’s affected the entire world, and while some territories have begun re-introducing live music events, South Africa is unfortunately not ready yet.

We were due to welcome +LIVE+ to Pretoria and Cape Town this November, a year after the original planned 2020 concert dates were postponed due to the pandemic, but this unfortunately still cannot happen due to the government-imposed restrictions on public gatherings.

The band has therefore taken the difficult decision that in this time of uncertainty, rather than postpone for a second time and keep everyone in limbo, they feel it best to cancel the tour.

Please know that everyone on all sides has done everything humanly possible over the course of the last 2 years to make these shows happen, and we’re deeply saddened that it has come to this.

For AMP, the consequences of the last 2yrs combined with the cancellation of this tour are potentially far reaching.. So while a full refund waits at Computicket for each and every ticket holder for these +LIVE+ shows, what I’d ask you to please consider is the following:

Option 1:
You consider not claiming your refund, but rather leave it as a “credit” towards any AMP concert/event in the future. The benefit thereof to yourselves, aside from the knowledge that you’re playing your part to help support a small business that continues to do its level best to bring Rock n Roll to SA, would be that anyone with this “AMP voucher” will be given preferential treatment/priority access to tickets for future events. Knowing how quickly some of these shows sell out, this could be a very worthwhile investment.

Option 2:
Consider a partial refund less “admin fees”. You will still receive 95% of your money back, but you will be helping to save AMP a significant sum in additional bank fees and charges related to this cancellation.

Option 3:
Full refund done via EFT if purchased in store by cash, refunded directly back to your credit card if purchase was made online.

Your continued support of AMP through these challenging times is deeply appreciated. We look forward to being able to share the music with you again soon..

Andy Mac

Not suprised. A few bands have cancelled tours and with Covid traveling internationally makes things way more complicated.

The band should catch up though. As of right now the tour is still listed on theor website with links to purchase tickets. Whoever runs the site is definitely dropping the ball on this one.

What’s really not ever surprising is Līve’s website not being updated/the ball being dropped.
