I just downloaded the jam that they came up with on stage at the Copenhagen show the other night and am listening to it for the first time now. I don't know if anybody else agrees with me but if somebody told me that this was a B-side from the Throwing Copper era I think I would have believed them.

I know obviously it's not and I'm sure a little bit of work went into it before they played it on stage but just the song in general seems to take me back to TC days. I think it sounds great and is a reflection of what type of music they can make when the entire band jams and puts together a song as a group instead of Ed writing songs and then each member laying down their part at a later date. I'm not saying everything was done like this but from what I've heard the more recent efforts have been down more on an individual basis then in the past.

While I still enjoy their later albums I think there is something to be said for songs that come that come together through the creative spirit of the entire group together. Maybe this is just me reminiscing but I'm really digging this song and think it would be great with a little more work.

Yes! This was classic Live as I know it. I really enjoyed hearing it.

I thought the same thing... that it easily could have been an outtake from the TC/SS days.

Most likely, when they started to "jam", everyone in the band reverted to the style they were most comfortable with.

So I guess they could just keep churning out albums that sound just like TC/SS if they wanted to!

key here, the whole band was contributing, not just ed writing and bringing it to the band

Amazing that Dan moved my thread about the song but not yours.

But anyways, I totally agree with you. That song kicked ass and really reminds me of the old Live. rockin.gif

Ok... i like SFBM but if All in Your Mind was on SFBM it would be the best one. This is pure Live, raw sound, nice voice and hard rock. I hope the next album will kick ass.

nice voice? Ed sings like a pan on this one... he sounds drunk.
this live jam is really worth a listen for what it is, but I wouldn't say more.

Sounds like a pretty good opener to a new album to me ... though maybe Ed can lower his voice a bit. If they can take that sound into the studio for 12 more tracks (let's go over the five and six-minute mark, guys) I'd say we have an amazing album No. 8. But that's just my longtime hope that Live would do a "jam" album.

In my opinion, all jam sessions are better than any actual song.
