If you buy the drums then Chad Gracey will fly out to you and give you a drum lesson.

The app is called "Whatnot" and the user who is selling the items is called "pops_and_such".

Chad Gracey will also be appearing live on the app during the auction.

QUOTE(SJN1279 @ Jul 16 2021, 8:55 am) *

Once fans don't care enough to speculate anymore, to me that's a bigger problem.

Fans shouldn't have to speculate. The band should be providing material (whether it be tour dates, new music, personal and band social media posts, archival information, concert recordings) so that fans can remain engaged with the band and have something to discuss amongst themselves.

This auction thing is actually pretty cool. Chad Gracey is unloading some stuff he doesn't need anymore and fans have the opportunity to purchase some rare gear. Unfortunately it's turned sour because of outside influences and the sense of negativity that surrounds this band.

QUOTE(mattyeagles @ Jul 15 2021, 2:19 pm) *

Chad does not seem like he is appreciative of fans at all, and is in fact annoyed by them. If the band doesn’t want FAKE NEWS spreading, they should actually be a band or make a statement.

He was a total prick to me once on a different fan board. I made an off handed comment about how great it would be if they leaked a track from Black Mountain early, and he personally came on the board to castigate me, and call me whiny and demanding, and then went on a rant about hw precious music is and how fans can't just expect it.

I mean, I wasn't talking to the fucking band, I was talking to fans on a fan board about wanting to hear new music. NOT OK, apparently.

The guy is a knobend.

ETA, might have been Chad Taylor actually. I forget now, it was a Chad in any case.

Agree.
Honestly, it’s already that way.
Pretty much no one cares.

Right. There are very very few people who care. Those that still care, are pretty close to not caring anymore (speaking about myself).

I think if there was anything planned at all, it would have been used in defense of the statement about the sale being a bad sign. But there was nothing, just: ‘fake news!’

I hope they’ll get active soon and at least show a sign that they’re still communicating with each other.

I just went and read the recent comments on the IG link. $10,000 omg.gif for the drums, visit to set-up, & lesson.

Why isn’t Līve’s official account posting this? Wouldn’t it attract more interest? Who is the woman posting and what does she have to do with Līve? Scam-ish.

Let me ask this:
why do you have the opinion that Live's official account should post this? shrug.gif

If you apply basic logic, this is an auction supported by Chad Gracey. Nowhere does it state that Live (as a band) is endorsing this. It's Chad's deal, his thing, nothing else.

Scam-ish? What reasoning to support such a claim? I would suggest better research before laying claims of any type of scam. I feel that is a completely unfair assessment.

No, no, no... haven't you heard??? This is not a good sign at all. uhoh.gif Absolutely nothing positive can ever come from this. Such a sad state of affairs, this auction.... close it down, close it down!

Is that the only reasoning you can state? No fan negativity? Pop open a thread here and take a look and see the unwarranted negativity that infects so many threads here. I can post examples, if needed. There are plenty.

You too would be annoyed when people like Nick post on a public fb group page of 8k members.

"It looks we are very far away from any sort of shows. Online sale of Live band equipment and merch"
Gracey does appreciate the fans. I don't know if you've ever personally met him.

Quoted for 100% truth.

It's baffling the method of approach this one has towards the band. Mind boggling, actually. I stopped trying to understand it years ago.

this place exists to archive the band, perhaps keep it relevant (but it doesn't). It only sees about a dozen posters here and the thousands of others haven't been here in 20 yrs.

But basically, this site to vent and complain and vilify them - 1000%

So maybe they have a good reason for the inactivity. All the pining about lack of updates I can understand but it takes on a new level. Things in this world are just trying to go back to normal, although the $$$ changers want to place more bs on us all.

At some point one needs to reflect and then realize the shit they complain about is trivial and unimportant.
I saw gruno post and felt i needed to. Just let everything play out and in time Live will update you all on the state of the band and those in it.

The music industry worldwide remains at a virtual standstill.

That's a line of bullshit! New music is being released weekly and acts are touring.

QUOTE(gerrycan70 @ Jul 15 2021, 2:18 am) *

Straight from Gracey himself:

"Making such a headline is FAKE NEWS. Facts are a great and rare thing these days.

LOL - of course a Trump supporter would use the phrase "FAKE NEWS" and mention how rare facts are.

Which can be countered with the amount of acts that have cancelled 2021 touring and are also not releasing new music.

QUOTE
The 1975
The band announced Jan. 12 that they were canceling all 2021 shows. Said the band: "These are incredibly difficult times for a lot of people, and until we can be sure that we will be able to play shows in a way that is safe for our fans and crew, we have decided the best course of action is to cancel our touring so that, where possible, everyone can get their tickets refunded sooner rather than later."

Taylor Swift
The pop superstar officially called off her Lover Fest dates on Feb. 26. " I'm so sorry, but I cannot reschedule the shows that we've postponed," she told fans in a statement shared on social media. "This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone's plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future."

Halsey
The popstar officially called off her already postponed Manic World Tour citing COVID-19 as the reason. "Safety is the priority. I wish things were different," she tweeted. The North American leg had been set to kick off in June prior to the tour's cancellation.

Aerosmith
The rock band rescheduled its 2021 European tour to June and July 2022. "Due to current conditions and for the safety of our fans, the 2021 European Tour has been rescheduled to 2022," the band said in a statement.

Roger Waters
Waters' "This Is Not a Drill" tour had been scheduled to kick off in July, but has been postponed due to the pandemic. The tour will now hit the road July 6, 2022, in Pittsburgh, and end Oct. 8 in Dallas.

Rage Against the Machine
RATM postponed their "Public Service Announcement" reunion tour once again on April 8. The tour, with Run the Jewels supporting, will now kick off in March 2022, ending with five nights at NYC's Madison Square Garden in August.

Scam-ish was for the lack of a better word. Perhaps I should have used words odd or weird. Fishy? Still don’t understand why the link pasted here was an IG post by a random person. Perhaps she has a connection to the auction app? I was wondering, but whatevs. Okay, since it’s his gear and not anything to do with the band, he should think about posting it on his personal Instagram page. Or at least repost the auction advertisement link. It wouldn’t have come across as so odd. It’s small potatoes, really. It’s as dangum said earlier… because the band is hiding out and not communicating, assumptions are made. I’ll continue to wait for their update of the state of the band and who it’s members are. whistle.gif

Not a fan of any of these other than Aerosmith and RATM. Those bands are not as silent, I can tell you that. Lack of communication causes assumptions to be made.

You left off the big tour that I’m still holding a ticket for— Joan Jett, Poison, Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe, postponed until 2022. I don’t follow Joan, but the other bands are present/active. Please don’t say bands don’t have to show online presence these days. They do. -This is not the stone ages where we had to wait on a monthly magazine to hit the stands to read updates. Whoever does Līve’s social media is terrible. They need to get a new contract/different company.

Taylor Swift released two full length albums during the pandemic, and is re-recording her entire catalog. Not a good example of inactive at all.

Live fans want to see them in concert again, and would love to hear new songs.

Any type of positive engagement would be welcomed.

The silence isn't usual for them, not to this extent. So some level of concern is normal.
